Street Style, Tokyo: 59 photos of Japan’s kawaii fashion at its best
See the street style from Tokyo »
While eyes turn to the four fashion week capitals for the best “in crowd” street style, Asia has proved to be the next frontier in really real IRL dress up.
If we were to name which city in the east has the best street style, Seoul and Tokyo are neck and neck. And with this latest batch snapped by photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman, we’re no closer to deciding which stylish city does it best. You can’t deny our love for all things Korea (ahem, matching couples!), but if we were to judge based on zaniness, we’ve got to hand it to the Japanese. Bart Simpson and Disney motifs still hold strong, but hats seem to be the ultimate staple to completing an outfit, judging from this collection of style snaps. Walking and posing (with obligatory peace signs, of course) in the heart of Tokyo’s most stylish district, Harajuku, you can surely find a generation of the hip and young dressed in everything from kawaii Lolita-styled dresses to goth-like ensembles to just plain chic. To be honest, we don’t think anyone can pull off quirky, punk and cute as effortless as them. Find it hard to believe? Here are 61 photos to prove it.

See the epic street style from Seoul »
In the place where skincare easily outnumbers fashion in the retail sector, Koreans really know how to put together a killer outfit. Recently, photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman headed to South Korea to capture, amongst many amazing things, the street style game in Seoul. Vibrant, whimsical and always perfectly-balanced, the city’s inhabitants seem unanimously well dressed. While toned down when compared to the zany outfits in neighbouring Japan, it’s amazing to see a society so well put together. Easily one of the more inspiring places to peep, the street style in Seoul has made the city a new favourite fashion destinations. We <3 Korea!

Street Style, Calgary: 19 shots of construction workers, office dwellers and cool kids
See the street style from Calgary »
While the streets outside fashion week are always littered with head-to-toe statements, reality is such that fashion is much more functional day to day. Work in construction? Your wardrobe is likely going to consist of toughed up basics. Nine to five office dweller? A brightly hued tie might just be the only form of expression you’ve got. That being said, function can often be amped up, especially in the warmer months.
Globetrotting photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman returned to their hometown to snap some everyday street style in and around Calgary—a winning smile seems trending across the board.

Street Style, Tokyo: 71 of the craziest, most colourful fashion photos ever!
See the street style from Tokyo »
If you ever wondered of the correlation between population density and amount of style in an urban centre, Tokyo is the perfect place to test your theories. After some time exploring the city and breaking through the (many) language barriers, photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman ended up on the streets of Harajuku, just off the main stretch of Omotesando (a shopping heaven) to style stalk the world’s most famous street style destination. Long gone are the Harajuku girls of the Gwen Stefani fame, while you can still see some elaborately decked out in Victorian and steam punk motifs, the way has been paved for a new generation of fashion obsessed trend setters. The aesthetic has become more street style in Tokyo, and less costume. Bart Simpson and Mickey Mouse rule and there is no such thing as too much, right or wrong or too colourful, the theme is strictly fashion play and the Japanese have a lot of fun. Even those focusing their attention elsewhere can feel their street style senses tingling. Say hello to your new Tokyo muses.

Calgary Street Style: 34 shots of trendy residents sporting summer layers
See Calgary street style the gallery »
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: man, Calgary’s stylish. Resident street style photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman took to the ever-trendy 17th Avenue to document some of this summer’s hippest, and as per usual, came out with street style gold. Photographed over a few weekends in July, trendy Calgarians were spotted sporting summer layers apropos for Summer 2013’s cold-weather influx. Leather jackets and thin-knit sweaters seemed the favourite cover-ups for the ladies, while the gents favoured long sleeved button downs. As they are with much of the country’s most fashion-forward men, unkempt beards and moustaches reigned supreme. We ain’t complaining.

Check out our Calgary Stampede 2013 street style photos! »
It’s certainly been quite the month for Calgary but this weekend the city proved that not only must the show go on, it’s going to bring it, style-wise. The Calgary Stampede has once again blown our minds for its ability to gather as many cool looking kids as possible in one place. Thanks to the keen eye of photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman, you can see that “the greatest outdoor show on Earth” makes for excellent street style scouting. We’re talking distressed denim with covetable patchwork pieces, dusty leather paired with delicate lace, turquoise and silver jewellery and all the cowboy hats and boots you could ever want. Beauty-wise, Alberta seems to have mastered the art of loose, wavy hair and dewy summer skin. Remind us to book a flight to Calgary for next year, yeah?
