Anti-frizz products that work!
Like all hopeful curly haired girls out there, my daughter Molly and I will try anything once–especially if it swears to smooth and de-frizz! It’s magic to our ears and we’re suckers every time! Each new product we eagerly unwrap fills us with happy straight hair dreams and promises to seduce us with life-changing, lock-loving results. (Trust me we’ve got the overflowing cupboard full of tried-once, SO not-happening products to prove it!) But just when we were about to swear off all styling products for good and embrace our not so fab frizz forever, along came true love in a bottle. And we’ve got the Living Proof ($26 each, sephora.com)!

Lash blast
I’ve got a great pair. They’re traffic stopping, authentically beautiful and genuinely all mine. Of course, I’m talking about my eyelashes.
Super long and thick, my lashes naturally curl upwards. They define and separate with the application of any mascara, regardless of price, performance or formulation. They consistently attract the attention of friends, colleagues and strangers who all ask: are your eyelashes real? And I never have to wear falsies. My eyelashes are perfect just the way they are.
I can say that. I have crap thin blonde hair, miniscule eyebrows and jiggly thighs–my eyelashes are all that I have.
Yet it still burns me when I see models in television and print ad campaigns, clearly wearing a row of false eyelashes, while promoting the next must-have mascara. It’s not fair. It misrepresents.

Beauty gadgets: Are they actually useful?
We’re always torn about silly products. Sure they’re fun to play around with, but they always seem like things the earth doesn’t need. Case in point: On the Cuff (onthecuff.net), absorbent sponge cuffs designed to soak up water that runs down your arms while you wash your face.

The Great Hair Removal Debate
I’m not one to turn down a dare–when playing truth or dare as a teen I would always pick the latter. So when Nair challenged me to swap my usual shaving routine of swiping a Venus razor up my legs with their Shower Power Hair Removal Cream ($10, at drugstores) I couldn’t say no.

The body wrap that you, the Oscar nominees and Neil Patrick Harris can use to look good.
Considering that I rarely ever make it to the gym these days (I blame my toddler), when the offer of a body treatment that guaranteed at least a six-inch loss over the course of two hours was presented, how could I say no?
