Street style: Rad hatter
Lovely in…a tricky topper
Spotted: Queen and Bathurst Streets
Why: The porkpie isn’t a look that’s easy to pull off, but the combo of bangs and blunt ends makes it work. With a gamine quality that’s neither feminine nor frou-frou, our Lovely takes a page from Buster Keaton, in pared-down pieces and his signature chapeau.See the full look after the jump.

Saskatoon: Hats at the track
It’s always a sign of summer for me when the racetrack opens up. As a little girl my grandparents would take me and all my cousins to the races and we would each get to place a two dollar bet on our lucky horse. Naturally all of us girls would choose our winner based on the color sash the horse and jockey were wearing.
I was reminded of this memorable occasion while browsing through hats at Hats & That (636 Broadway Avenue, 306-933-1898).

Vancouver: Four Father’s Day finds
If your dad is anything like mine, he can be trouble to buy for. To help you in your quest for the perfect Father’s Day gift, I’ve detailed a few great finds from around Vancouver:
Bailey of Hollywood’s Sydney (above, $109), is the perfect hat for a dapper dad. Available at Granville Island’s emporium of headpieces, Edie Hats (1666 Johnston St., Suite 4 The Netloft, Granville Island 604-683-4280), this panama hat is woven from toquilla palm fibers and features a teardrop crown and a rich navy sash. Definitely a piece from dad’s wardrobe that I would borrow!
