Target takes holiday cheer (and Bullseye the dog!) from coast to coast with a cross Canada roadtrip
There are only six months between Canadians and freestanding Target stores, but to help make the waiting time go faster, Target will be heading out on a holiday 2012 road trip. The American retailer will be going from coast to coast while bringing holiday celebrations to more than 20 cities across Canada.
The road trip kicks off in Halifax, Nova Scotia at Dalhousie University on November 30 and will come to a close in British Colombia in mid-December. The first stop will feature guest performances, holiday treats (everybody’s favourite part) and even an opportunity to have your photo taken with Bullseye the dog who is, as you’d suspect, super cute. And that’s only a taste of what’s to come. You can follow the tour’s route on Twitter or Facebook to know if Target is headed to a town near you.

First look: Jason Wu ventures into contemporary fashion with his new line, Miss Wu
Next January, Jason Wu will add his name to the long list of designers that have forayed into contemporary fashion when he unveils his diffusion line, Miss Wu. The collection, which Wu describes as “slightly more downtown, and with a more relaxed attitude” than his signature line, is sure to garner a loyal following amongst trend-savvy women who like their fashion feminine and classic. Timeless ‘60s beauties—think Marianne Faithfull and Jane Birkin—served as inspiration for the Miss Wu’s 40-piece Spring 2013 line-up, which features mod silhouettes, groovy graphic prints and covet-worthy floppy hats. Wu, who gained experience designing affordable fashion with his Target capsule collection, told WWD that Miss Wu isn’t just about doing ‘Jason Wu-for-less.’ “I always see Jason Wu [the collection] as my aesthetic, my design sensibility,” the designer said. “Miss Wu is my personality.”

Have you heard? Jason Wu is coming! And he’s bringing his Target collection with him!
Holy moly, this city just keeps getting better and better! Just when Torontonians thought we’d been shut out of the Jason Wu for Target madness, it seems that we had it coming all along! Next Thursday February 23, the golden boy himself will be bringing his collab to the city, for a one-day-only shopping event at a pop up location at 363 King Street West. Doors will open at noon, but we suggest you start lining up right about now. If the hullabaloo south of the border earlier this month taught us anything, it’s to get in early and bring our fashion warrior attitudes along with.

They said/We said: Miami-based shoppers furious, as Jason Wu for Target stock sells out to resellers
Jason Wu for Target hit the stores and the web yesterday at 12:01 a.m., and much to the chagrin (but perhaps not the surprise) of fashionistas everywhere, so did hawk-eyed resellers.
The reselling phenomenon is by no means a new one—need we remind you of the countless H&M collabs?—but a particularly aggressive couple in a Miami Target has managed to capture everyone’s attention.
The clothes-snatching Bonnie and Clyde managed to buy out the store’s Jason Wu stock, scooping up $7,000 worth of clothing into two huge Costco-sized shopping carts (all very handily caught on video by a fellow shopper). It’s pretty obvious the couple was going to resell (we mean, we love Jason Wu too, but who really needs 20 of the exact same baby-blue blouse?).
It seems that diffusion lines are destined to an eBay fate. As it stands, over 12,000 Jason Wu for Target items are already being sold on the online bidding site. What can really be done, though? Should stores produce more? Some are pushing for a reselling boycott, which we are all for. But at the end of the day, if you really want a Jason Wu striped skirt, you’re going to buy the striped skirt—whether it’s from Target or eBay or Bonnie and Clyde.
