Canadian-style promoters Gail McInnes and Amanda Brugel set up shop at the Hazelton Hotel during TIFF to outfit celebs in homegrown design. Their just-launched red-carpet rentals service, The Style Box, is aiming to get Canadian-made clothing and jewellery onto high-profile names going to high-profile events. Last week, I joined revellers with a cause at the annual Earth Day Canada Gala. The national environmental charity took over the Drake Hotel for a night of non-profit partying. Between the speeches and the never-ending toasts, it was fun to hunt for enviro trends–from locally foraged food to El Naturalista footwear to foot-pedalled cabs. Here are a few of my favourite snaps:
