Shay Mitchell vs. Lucy Hale: Which Pretty Little Liars star was best dressed at the 2013 MMVAs?
See the red carpet photos up-close »
From florals to crop tops, the ladies on the red carpet at last night’s MMVA awards showed they know a thing or two about this summer’s trends. The oh-so-pretty co-stars of Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale and Shay Mitchell, were no exception, opting for summer-ready minis, edgy metallic accessories and short hemlines.
Lucy Hale tweeted her enthusiasm before the night’s event: “Suuuuper excited for MMVAs tonight!!” On the red carpet the actress looked lovely in white with a classy A-line Amen mini dress that she paired with metallic fuchsia heels for the ultimate pop of colour. To accessorize her sophisticated look, Hale chose an on-trend transparent clutch and minimal jewellery. Hale, whose new post as beauty ambassador for Mark is sure to warrant a perk or two in the makeup department, dazzled with perfectly rosy cheeks and a glossy pink pout. She rocked a sultry smoky eye, which balanced out the rest of her girly look.

Lucy Hale is the new beauty ambassador for Mark, Avon’s youthful fashion and cosmetics brand
The secret is out: Lucy Hale has just been named as the beauty brand ambassador for Avon’s fashion and beauty brand, Mark.
Considering how often her Pretty Little Liars character, Aria, changes up her hair and makeup, Hale seems like an ideal choice for the face of the youthful brand. While her work with Mark will include traditional advertising campaigns, there’s also a social side to the role. Hale will serve as the spokesperson for the brand’s philanthropic arm, M.Powerment by Mark, which works to bring awareness to vicious cycle of dating abuse and violence against young women.

Beauty magnified: Examining the ski chalet–ready beauty look on Michael Kors’ Fall 2012 runway
See how the Michael Kors Fall 2012 hair and makeup was done »
Featuring chunky cable-knits, fox furs and shearlings, the Michael Kors Fall 2012 collection was inspired by a well-to-do couple—say Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, or John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette—settling in at their cozy winter retreat after a day on the slopes. To achieve this fireside look, makeup artist Dick Page used Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in “Drama” on both lips and cheeks. The red liquid lipstick was applied with a foundation sponge on cheeks to mimic an in-from-the-cold flush then blotted on lips for a bold, precise effect. On the eyes, Dick Page swept pale gold and iridescent white powder over lids and into inner corners and finished with black mascara. Hair was just as cozy: After prepping with a volumizing spray for texture, Orlando Pita created a side part, secured it with a bobby pin and pulled the lengths into a casual, undone knot. Read on as we examine the runway look for Michael Kors Fall 2012 in full, complete with tips, tricks and the six products you need to try the hair and makeup at home.
