We love Hanneli‘s outfit here–it’s light and pretty and perfect for early spring. But why we chose this photo is that it illustrates a trend we’ve been seeing on the streets of Paris that we’re not too sure about–pants so big and long that they cover your feet. On one hand we understand that super wide-legged pants can look awkward, especially in heels, but is the answer to deny you have feet at all? What say you?

There are so many things to love in this photo: the little fitted fabric helmet and gathered neckline on the woman on the left and the dramatically long coat and dress on the left (and her purse is a matroshka doll!). Plus the fabric on both their outfits hangs exquisitely and you just know they’re a dream to wear. (*sigh*)
How many Canadian icons can you spot in this photo? The Canuck contingent in Paris was buzzing this weekend when Jeanne Beker arrived at Viktor & Rolf in this HBC blanket coat, specially designed by Smythe. It’s a little bit of home at the Tuileries.
It’s almost spring, right? Yes, spring flowers are something of a fashion cliché, but we’re still happy to see bright pinks and mixed florals popping up from under heavy coats and they look especially vibrant against a backdrop of black and grey.
Juuuust when we were getting tired of all the big rounded shoulders (inevitably in black leather and paired with liquid leggings and studded booties) along comes a fresh version in classic–yet totally right-now–Breton stripes.
We love the mix of nude hues, pastels and black that was all over spring runways–as demonstrated on this streeter here. We also appreciate someone who can work a boater hat.
