Can someone please tell me how it’s possible that I’ve been in Italy for a mere 12 hours and have already eaten pasta twice? Say ciao bella to my low-carb plan for the week! But on to why I’m really here–the clothes!

People are talking about: How much collections are catering to the red carpet; Miuccia Prada’s latest animated feature “Trembled Blossoms;” Karen Elson’s fringe (super short); the cancellation of the Vanity Fair Oscar party; the Year of The Rat!!!

As 2007 came to a close, most people had their resolutions all planned out. Case in point: my gym was packed the first few weeks of the year. As for me, this year I have no resolutions. OK, well, maybe one. I’m not sure if it counts as a resolution, but here it is: My mission this year is to up my wardrobe factor. No more fast fashion all the time (sorry H&M). This is my year to add classic pieces to my closet. Hence the name of my blog-within-a-blog: Glamour Quest.

When it comes to making an entrance (or an exit) at any posh holiday party, chicettes everywhere turn to the Fab Five:

1. The LBD (little black dress)
2. The bold cocktail ring
3. The hot shoe
4. The statement bag
5. The mini “glam” slam (polish, primp, perfume)

Don’t be the strife of the party–plan your outfit in advance to avoid becoming a part of this fashionista folk tale…
