Smythe’s doing Pre Fall now. Peep the look book!
Good news for all jacket (or Kate Middleton)-philes. Canadian label Smythe, best known for their impeccably tailored blazers, has launched its first ever Pre-Fall collection. Designed for “fallmer” (the season between summer and fall, most commonly known as Pre Fall), the collection is chock full of shearling, patterns and slouchy boyish silhouettes perfect for that unpredictable temperate weather. We can definitely see these London-inspired looks on Kate Moss or Sienna Miller (and not just because the model is her doppelganger). The collection will be available nationwide in June.

Holy monogram! Louis Vuitton to expand its Toronto flagship
Toronto is in love with Louis Vuitton. What else could explain the fact that the city’s two-storey Bloor St. flagship isn’t big enough to satiate the stylish hordes hungry for patchwork purses, angora skating skirts and velvet pumps?
On Tuesday, Louis Vuitton vice-president of Canada and Bermuda, Jean-Philippe Hecquet, told a gathering of top clients that the Toronto flagship would be moving to the north side of Bloor St. and tripling in size. The store will be located at 150 Bloor St. W. and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2012. “Our clients travel and get frustrated when they see things in other cities that they can’t get here,” Hecquet noted prior to an informal showing of the pre-fall collection.

Couture diary: Armani Privé’s goblet of fire, Dior’s jewelled minatures and perusing the fine details at Coco Chanel’s apartment
Sophia Loren, Jodie Foster and Olivia Wilde squeezed into an empty shop in the corner of the Place Vendome to take in the Armani Privé spring 2011 couture collection, which looked as if it had been poured out of a flaming goblet. The molten fabrics in silver and jewel tones were sculpturally cut, with stiff little peplums or spliced openings across the hips. Imagine a liquefied suit of armour topped with lacquered dinner plate hats. It was all very futuristic Cardin-meets-Lady Gaga.
