She speaks! Kate makes her first official speech in a dress just like her mom’s
View every look Kate’s worn since her engagement »
Well, Mondays are not that bad after all. Yesterday, we unabashed Kate-lovers were gifted with not one but TWO new outfits, and a speech to boot. The first official speech since becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, and the first time speaking publicly that we can recall since this pre-wedding interview, Kate took to the mic at the Treehouse Children’s Hospice in Ipswich, England to share a few words of support as a patron of the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. For the full two-and-a-half minutes, check out the video below and tell us how you think she did. (She sounds curiously like Lady Mary Crawley, doesn’t she?)
And now to the dress. We’re loving the reports that Kate’s cobalt blue Reiss button down dress belongs to her mother, Carole Middleton, but alas, What Kate Wore is reporting that the two own the same dress. Twinsies! According to the Reiss website, Kate’s dress is from 2008, but doesn’t she make it look fresh as ever?

Royal watch day 2: Kate recycles the Reiss dress from her engagement portrait, wears a brooch on loan from the queen and a maple leaf fascinator!
Swoon! Kate hit all the Canada Day marks with her outfit today: the white Reiss dress she wore in her official engagement portrait, a diamond maple leaf brooch (on loan from the Queen, no less) and get this… a red maple leaf fascinator! Brilliant! We would give you all sorts of tips and tricks on how to get her look but the dress has long been snapped up and really, can you replicate a hat like that?

Royal wedding countdown: Day 9
In the midst of Gaga mania, toy company Harumika decided to cash in and reproduced some of her most memorable outfits in miniature. And now? Harumika has commissioned Chloe Bayly, a student at the London College of Fashion, to do the same with bride-to-be Kate. Chloe created her own mini-prediction of Kate’s wedding gown, as well as recreating some of her signature style moments⎯the royal blue Issa dress, her sheer mini-shift dress from when she met Prince William, and the Reiss ensemble from her engagement photos.

Royal engagement photos spark new opportunity to buy Kate Middleton’s clothes
Kate Middleton‘s latest style gauntlet–the royal engagement photos–was thrown down over the weekend, which means that yes, there will be a whole new spate of Kate-inspired merch. In the photos, which were taken by Mario Testino, Middleton had the audacity to wear things that she already owned: a two-year-old cream blouse from Whistles and the £159 “Nanette” dress from Reiss–both UK-based high street chains. But don’t think that just because they’re not in stores anymore that you can’t buy them. Heavens no–don’t be silly!
