You Can Stay at Carrie’s Sex and the City Pad, but Leave Her Money Woes at the Door
Ah, to live like Carrie Bradshaw. The leading lady of Sex and the City, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, seemed to exist in a world where a lavish lifestyle was easily attainable, regardless of her bank account balance (as we know, she preferred her money hanging in her closet). Now, with the series’ HBO Max […]

How Does Sex and the City Hold Up 20 Years After Its Debut?
Two-decades after Sex and the City’s June 6, 1998 premiere, the girl-squad show continues to be a heavily quoted fan favourite. The fashion-forward HBO series wasn’t just cosmos and first dates: SATC changed the way that women talk about sex, and it tackled STDs, menopause, abortion and breast cancer in a candid, realistic way that was rarely […]

Fashion news: Marc Jacobs poses nude, Tavi is number 1 and the perpetual catfight between Ford and Next
If you think animals fight for their mates, you should see Ford and Next go at it over models. Ford has sued Next three times for stealing models, and now Next is counter-suing, after one of their agents (with three of their prized models) jumped to Ford. Drama! [The Cut]
Taking one for the team, Marc Jacobs is the model for his first men’s fragrance in a decade. Aptly named, Bang, it’s first ad features a lubed-up Jacobs lying naked with an oversized cologne bottle between his legs. Lets just hope none of the older, leathery designers decide to follow suit. Fashion news: London looters, Erin Fetherston goes to Juicy Couture and Kelly Cutrone Takes to YouTube
Kell on Earth hasn’t even hit Canada yet, but we’ll be lucky to get the first season, because plans for a second seem to be lagging. Kelly Cutrone, clearly not waiting around, has instead set up a YouTube channel, KellyCutroneTV, where you can get “daily missives” from the People’s Revolution team. [Styleite] Read our interview with Kelly Cutrone.
There has been a string of burglaries hitting London’s high end shops, and last night Chanel was the target (clearly the burglers have good taste). Over the past two years other retail stores including Dolce & Gabbana, Harvey Nichols, Anya Hindmarch and Salvatore Ferragamo have been robbed, but police haven’t confirmed yet if it’s the same high-end hitters that keep looting the shops. Kate Moss and Mario Testino are teaming up to release a book. The 1,500 limited-edition signed copies will go for a cool 305 Euros. [Fabsugar UK via Stylelist]

Kate Moss is lending her vocal stylings to the new Lemonheads album. I know, right? The Lemonheads have a new album. [Nylon, via The Cut]
In other, open-the-vault news, Heathers is coming to Broadway next year. You better show up or it’s keggers with kids all next year. [Fashionista]
If you actually went to a kegger this weekend, 3-D prints might be a bit much for you today. [Style Bubble]

Patricia Field and the redemption of a Shopaholic
I’ve got a confession to make: I hate chick flicks. There’s nothing wrong with them, per se, they’re just not my thing. That doesn’t mean I haven’t seen How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Chasing Liberty, because I have and I loved them. (I may have even seen one in the theatres). It’s just that, if given the choice between, say, 27 Dresses and Anchorman, I’m going with Will Ferrell every time.

Paris: October 1
By Rebecca Voight
Pixelated prints, cinched waists and thigh high skirts are de rigueur in Paris for spring. Say what you will about morosity dictating a more sombre stance, fashion is marching to its own saucy beat.

Guelph: Cosmos on a Sunday afternoon
Sometimes there just aren’t enough stylish events happening in Guelph. But when a dry spell hits, a few dedicated fashion advocates step in to create some fashionable fun. This week marked the DVD release of the Sex and the City movie and with a screening at the Bookshelf Cinema downtown (41 Quebec Street, bookshelf.ca), there was no better time to throw a party. Though the movie debuted in theatres months ago, a group of fabulous folks jumped at the chance to celebrate, but this time with cosmos in hand.

Isn’t SJP Lovely?
By Natalia Ksiazek
Fans of Sarah Jessica Parker need not wait for the sequel to Sex and the City: The Movie to eye more of this star’s stylish frocks. Until Thursday, June 19, the pale pink, Oscar de la Renta gown wore by SJP in the ad campaigns for her first fragrance, Lovely, will be on display at Sears in the Toronto Eaton Centre.

How Carrie are you?
What’s your Sex and the City fashion personality?
These days, when it comes to a girl’s closet, it is de rigueur to have multiple fashion personalities. We change up our looks like stylish chameleons. In my case, er, closet rather, a week doesn’t go by without the Three Faces of Sarah making an appearance: The Prepster (think seersucker, stripes and sailboat-loads of navy), The Seductress (LBDs, killer heels and notice-me-now jewellery) and The Minimalist (monochromatic dressing with statement extras).

Sex and our city
By now, most of the female gender is in a tizzy over the hautely-anticipated Sex and the City: The Movie. By some higher power, this fashionable girl was invited to the Canadian premiere and after party in Toronto. After attending a beauty press launch, it was off to the Scotiabank Theatre at Richmond and John to join the throngs of sexy, young Torontonians dressed in their SATC best. Seriously, one girl was even wearing heels, a bustier and a not-so-little hat à la Carrie Bradshaw—made even more hilarious when she was later spotted carrying gummy candies and a greasy bag of popcorn!
