Happy St Paddy’s Day! While Irish folk (and those just looking for a good time) revel with green beer on this side of the pond, the royals were up for ceremony in England. Earlier today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in a 300-person parade with members of the British army in Aldershot. And while spreading Irish luck might have been the ostensible theme, y’all know Kate’s coat is what we want to talk about. In 2012 and 2013, the Duchess wore a shamrock green coatdress by British designer Emilia Wickstead, and while it served her well both with and without baby bump, she’s retired it in favour of today’s coat: a double breasted wool trench by high street brand Hobbs. The Persephone coat (it’s on sale!) is cinched to perfection with a green snakeskin belt, paired with green suede pumps by Valerie Carbon and embellished with a gold Cartier shamrock brooch previously worn by the Queen Mother and Princess Anne. Overtop her latest blowout, Kate’s wearing the hard-shell beret by milliner Gina Foster that debuted on Christmas Day. Underneath those flowing locks, there are green amethyst drop earrings by Kiki McDonough—but what’s frosting when the cake’s already so flawless?
