Hair as performance art at the L’Oréal Color Trophy
We recently got the opportunity to go to the L’Oréal Color Trophy and having heard about the out and out spectacle of the presentation, we hopped a plane to Montreal and took our videographer with us. The Color Trophy awards styling teams from across Canada for creating a look that brings together hairstyle, colour and makeup, and the le tout of the Canadian salon world attends the over-the-top ceremony. Of hair and fromage: The Contessa Awards
This past Sunday, the 21st annual Contessa Awards invaded Toronto’s Sheraton Centre with pastel curls and neon updos. The Contessas, put on by Salon Magazine, are like the Oscars of Canadian hair. Or maybe the Daytime Emmys, at least in terms of cheese level. Nowhere else can you see boy band dancers with lightsabres or […]

Charlottetown: New (fashion) Royalty
It might come as a surprise to some that Charlottetown has a killer local music scene. The Danks, Smothered in Hugs, The Robots and Two Hours Traffic (whose music has been featured on The O.C., and who were recently nominated for a couple of Verge music awards) are just a few of the local bands that are beginning to make serious waves on a national scale.
