A complete wardrobe recap from last night’s gilded supermodel invasion of the London Olympics closing ceremony
Among the many highlights of last night’s Olympic Closing Ceremonies, one of our favourites was definitely the supermodel en masse march, a fashion moment that completely cemented London’s role as one of the industry’s capitals. Some of fashion’s most recognized faces, including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell (the definite stars of the show) along with Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Georgia May Jagger, Karen Elson, Jourdan Dunn and David Gandy, were all clad in seven of Britain’s most revered designers.

All the glorious royal wardrobe details from Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee pageant!
For those of you who were still in REM mode yesterday morning, you missed quite the to-do yesterday in London. Okay, maybe a “to-do” is putting it mildly, when in actuality, Queen Elizabeth‘s 1000-boat-strong Diamond Jubilee river pageant was 60 years in the making, and also hasn’t happened since Queen Victoria‘s in 1897. So lets just say it was QUITE THE TO-DO! The Queen donned an Angela Kelly–designed boucle white coat with flecked gold ribbon embroidery and Swarovski crystals (what, no diamonds?)—reportedly so that she’d be visible from afar amidst all the naval uniforms. Aboard the gilded Spirit of Chartwell and flanked by the royal family in all their uniformed glory, the Queen gave the good ol’ royal wave for a good portion of the afternoon while millions of onlookers cheered her on from the banks of the Thames.

They said/We said: Carine Roitfeld held a vampire-themed costume party last night in Paris
Has True Blood fever hit France? In celebration of Carine Roitfeld’s new book, Irreverent, she held a vampire ball in Paris last night where fashion’s biggest stars were expected to dress up and get into character. Naturally, some were more enthusiastic than others. Riccardo Tisci showed up with fake blood dripping from his mouth and Anna Dello Russo wore a Stephen Jones X Giles scarlet swan feather headdress that she described as “aggressive.” Other partygoers like Kanye West and Karl Lagerfeld dressed as per their usual. Perhaps they didn’t get the memo. Perhaps Kanye was still mid-fit.
Is Roitfeld is a Bill or Eric fan? We’re hoping the latter.

LFW backstage beauty: A red wine–stained, snogged mouth at Giles
“It’s all about a red wine–stained, snogged mouth,” said Lucia Pieroni of the makeup at Giles Spring 2012 show, applying M.A.C’s lip pencil in “Brick” onto the inside of the mouth and “Burgundy” on top, blended outward with a Q-tip. “There’s no defined line around the edge, but it’s quite dark in the middle.” The rest of the face was quite bare—a smidge of “Russian Red” lipstick on the cheeks, rubbed in with a large brush and a bit of lip balm on the eyelids, tops of the cheeks, and on the bridge of the nose for a bit of highlight.
