LFW Diary: The dispatch from Temperley, Issa, Todd Lynn, and a roundup of Brit celebs who sat “frow”
Day two of London Fashion Week was a day of literal show themes. First off was Moschino Cheap & Chic, showing in London for the first time—its “Make Up Your Life” Fall collection set in Portland Place (random factoid: this is near the Portland Hospital, where everyone from Victoria Beckham to Claudia Schiffer have given birth). Before the show, we were treated to cocktails and lemonade in the grand living room of a Georgian house; makeup chairs had also been set up to go along with the theme, though the Brit celebs I spotted—Nicola Roberts, Pixie Lott, and a pregnant Peaches Geldof—didn’t seem to take notice. Also present: Olivia Palermo.

Designer profile: Ever want to wear a crustacean? Rodnik can help
Equal parts designer, rock star, and artist, Philip Colbert’s need to stand out is driven by anything from art inspiration (think Warhol, Duchamp, and the like), to rock royalty. His womenswear line, Rodnik, follows suit.
Rodnik started as a duo with Colbert and Richard Ascott, with their designs focused around Russian folk–inspired knit scarves, with celebs like Peaches Geldof, Sienna Miller, and Lily Cole donning their early collections. In the last few years Rodnik has become what Colbert describes as a “much more fun adventure.” Part of the adventure—are you ready for this?—is in the publicity stunts. Starting in 2009 the Rodnik Band—the label presented as an ironic fashion band, where songs are developed based on a collection concept—has recorded and toured, showing at stores and fashion weeks worldwide. We want to party with this guy.

Ohmigod this is exciting: Pippa Middleton spotted in front row at Temperley!
Spotted amongst the front row usuals at yesterday’s Temperley show at the British Museum in London: none other than Pippa Middleton! Guys! Do you know what this means? Pippa’s officially courting the fashion spotlight! (Yes, we realize the amount of exclamation points accompanying this post.) While sister Duchess Kate is off do-gooding with Prince William, […]

LFW diary: A Louboutin-prompted trip, followed by 4 stellar shows by Jean-Pierre Braganza and more!
I decided to kick off London Fashion Week by nearly falling…into my fabulous silver Mercedes Benz sedan. Thanks, British Fashion Council (and ouch, Louboutins)! Not a great start, but all was forgotten once I got to the Jena.Theo show, where an excited Hilary Alexander was already seated, wearing the cutest leopard-print sneakers. Loved the great big hair and red lips inspired by old-Hollywood glamour (fitting for a collection called Fatale).

TIFF party talk: Peaches Geldof talks Karl Lagerfeld, post-modernism and, um, Legend of Zelda
When it comes to a party with on-site battle tag without being a 12th birthday party, who would be a better fit to to DJ than Peaches Geldof?
Her name doesn’t come without mild (okay, major) undertones of her extreme hipster-ness, It girl-ness, and–dare we say it– riding on daddy’s fame-ness, but if you’ve looked at her Twitter feed lately you’d know that at heart she’s just a nerd with a deep affinity for 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Fashion news: Anna is not amused, Tom Ford looking for funding, Lara Stone apparently tired of being so “fat”
Anna Wintour looked displeased at being seated front row next to Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof at the Twenty8Twelve show. The girls garnered attention, hugging and fawning over one another, while the famed editor looked unamused in every shot, hiding behind her oversized dark sunglasses. The camera never lies, and in this case, it failed to hide Ms. Wintour’s obvious disdain. [Daily Mail]
Nordstrom is launching a line of Twilight clothing that will hit stores in a few weeks. Eager to take a stab at sporting the New Moon ensembles? MTV will be hosting a sneak peek at the collection in what they are calling “Twilight Fashion Week.” The Twilighter tees will broadcast support for either ‘Team Edward’ or ‘Team Jacob,’ since, of course, we’re all dying to know.
