Instant Karma: Thomas Sabo takes destiny for a spin with Georgia May Jagger as the fact of its latest collection
Back when The Beatles were puff-ing away and taking sitar lessons from Ravi Shankar, karma seemed like a hippie fad for the blissed-out granola set. Today, it’s made its way out of the incense-filled archives and into the mainstream, casting a spell on everyone from Sofia Coppola to Justin Bieber, who (with the help of his Twitter followers) named his puppy after the cosmic concept.
In the world of karma, what goes around comes around in a never-ending cycle of cause and effect, birth and rebirth. Kind of like fashion. So it should come as no surprise that this and other mystical themes have become trendy lately for designers, who are referencing its powers in everything from Kenzo’s evil eye sweatshirts to Mara Hoffman’s witchy beach bags.

Street Style, New York: 52 photos of Hudson’s Bay stripes, spring-worthy layers and ’90s style outside the Fall 2014 shows
Despite the still-cold, still-snowy conditions in New York City, yesterday the fashion set threw caution to the chilly wind and made like it was spring. Breezy layers, exposed legs and bright colours continued to be popular street style choices outside Monday’s Fall 2014 shows, which included Carolina Herrera, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Theory. There were obviously some people who heeded their mother’s advice from years gone by and bundled up—but even then a colourful, strappy shoe or sheer layer helped liven the look up.
In today’s batch of photos, our photographer Stefani Yarhi did a little stripe spotting, capturing two colourful Hudson’s Bay blanket coats in Monday’s street style mix. Also wearing a rainbow of colour was Helena Bordon, in head-to-toe Spring 2014 Prada including the coveted pop art-inspired jacket, athletic shin socks and an embellished skirt. Leandra Medine wore a gorgeous tangerine duster, done in ’90s minimalism with high-waisted denim and an off-white turtleneck and sweater.

Berlin Fashion Week Fall 2014: The top 10 moments from this burgeoning style scene
Any Berliner worth their passport will tell you that their native city takes many other things more seriously (72-hour stretches of clubbing, for example) than fashion. This notion is mostly upheld, if only from a practical point-of-view—the girls wear flats, and the boys never wear plaid. But, with each edition of Berlin Fashion Week, it appears that the city has become a little more comfortable with its power on the runway. Still relatively-new in its 14th season, the Berlin tents have become a breeding ground for a cool, calm, and, above all else, considerate style ideology, edging out other Mercedes Benz-run weeks (except New York, duh), as a top contender for international glory.
The first round of Fall 2014 shows welcomed 50 designers from across Northern Europe, and, even more exciting were the 11 debuts alone, from a young newcomer who received orders from Lady Gaga, like, five minutes ago, and a Russian sartorial empress-in-the-making who has already dressed Naomi Campbell. The potential for breakout success is palatable, with well-heeled Anglos like Georgia May Jagger and Elizabeth Hurley spotted front row. And while all these street style blogs like to portray Berlin as the city of dark, unapologetic black and slouchy fits (which, fine, it is), there’s also an emerging, beautiful trend toward elegance and opulence to be found that is anti-Berlin indeed, but echoes back to Germany’s golden Enlightenment era—you know, pre-1914. Here’s 10 of our favourite moments and designer picks from Berlin Fashion Week’s Fall 2014 shows.

Model Parent: 12 genetic lottery winners who are turning their good looks into real careers
While coming of age for most kids involves obsessing over Ryan Gosling’s abs or donning an ill-fitting mermaid dress to semi-formal, celebrity kids can burn mileage on what we’re calling “family flame fame.” Celebrity kids are genetic lottery winners: hardwired to be talented, ridiculously good looking and sometimes both. Walking a Marc Jacobs runway show before the age of 18? A very real possibility.
At the sprightly young age of 10, Victoria and David Beckham’s son Romeo has gotten a head start on his career by starring in Burberry’s Spring 2013 advertising. Meanwhile, Cindy Crawford’s eleven-year-old daughter Kaia has fronted Versace’s children’s range.
Celebrity kids are certainly modeling earlier these days and while they may not all live up to the stature of their parents, they’ve certainly got enough moxy to gain It girl status. Here are our top 12 favourite model children.

Prada and Miu Miu share dark and surreal Fall 2013 ad campaigns
See Prada and Miu Miu’s Fall 2013 ad campaigns »
While Burberry was all about romance for Fall 2013, Miuccia Prada’s campaigns for both Prada and Miu Miu veered towards the dark and surreal.
Shot by photographer Steven Meisel under the hair-raising light of a cold and ominous casting studio, Prada’s Fall 2013 campaign serves as the perfect setting to showcase the film noir glamour of the fall collection. The campaign’s short film stars 9 models, who play the roles of hopeful actresses, preparing for auditions and reciting lines. The dark and desolate theme mirrored that of Prada’s Fall 2013 fashion week show in which models walked down a shadow-clad runway. Miuccia Prada, the designer behind the label, was quoted post-show by style.com saying “through cloth, you can really make movies,” reinforcing the theme of the campaign. The short film stands out our radar for both it’s seriously dramatic tone and because of an appearance by 19-year-old model Malaika Firth, the first black model cast by the brand in almost two decades. Firth holds her own alongside top models Christy Turlington and Freja Beha which is a feat to say the least. The 9 model-strong cast is reminiscent of the label’s much lighter Spring 2013 advertising campaign, also shot by Meisel, in which 10 models embodied the delicate, frilly characteristics of flowers featured on garments in the Spring 2013 collection.

5 minutes with Georgia May Jagger: The face of Just Cavalli talks about fragrance, modelling and her mother
At the launch of the Just Cavalli fragrance in New York, FASHION Magazine’s beauty editor, Sarah Daniel, sat down with the face of the campaign, Georgia May Jagger. Jagger discussed the influence her mother, Jerry Hall, has had on everything from modelling to fragrance choices and revealed that, just like the rest of us, she’s obsessed with Karlie Kloss. Watch the video above to go behind the scenes of the shoot for Just Cavalli and read on for the full interview.
I just saw the TV ad campaign for the fragrance. It looks like it was a fun shoot.
“It’s very saucy.”Your mom, Jerry Hall, has been the face of several advertising campaigns; did she give you any advice?
“She always says try to have fun, be yourself. All that kind of stuff.”Mom stuff.
“Yeah, mom stuff. Then she’s always telling me I need to take a break, and stuff like that.”Your mom was on the U.K. version of Dancing with the Stars, right?
“She showed me [her dance] the other day in the kitchen, and I was really impressed. I have actually never seen her dance before; she’s not a big dancer so it was very impressive to see that. Her body looks amazing, she has been working out, she’s lost a lot of weight.”
