The 10 essential ’70s records you need on vinyl
Of course the new HBO-series Vinyl would premiere on Valentine’s Day. The Mick Jagger- and Martin Scorsese-produced 10-part series is basically a love letter to the ’70s rock and roll that both men were familiar with back in the day. Remember, well before Leonardo DiCaprio became his guy, Scorsese shot The Last Waltz, a 1978 concert documentary about […]

History’s Top 5 parties: From Masquerade Balls to Surrealist Dinners, They’re Almost too Good to Be True!
As the buzz surrounding tonight’s Met Gala reaches a fever pitch, many websites have done a good job of reflecting on the event’s storied past—the dresses, the glamour, the history-making moments! And while dishing on the red carpet has become a full on spectator sport, what happens beyond the velvet rope is something many of us plebes will really never experience. In the context of high society’s glittering history, the Met Gala is just one of many cool parties the crème de le crème mingle at. In 2011, Assouline published a retrospective on the greatest balls of the last century (the book has been on my must-own list since) and here we count down five that have made us green with past life regression envy.

The glamorous life: L’Wren Scott shares holiday entertaining tips
Read L’Wren Scott’s holiday tips »
Glamour is a favourite subject of designer L’Wren Scott, and when she calls me from her London offices to discuss Christmas and collaborations, talk soon turns to sequins and sparkle—namely those within her holiday capsule collection for Banana Republic, in stores and online now. Inspired by “glamorous entertaining and holiday at home,” the collection has glitz aplenty (sequined sweaters, brocade shift dresses, juicy jewel tones), but one perfect outfit does not a holiday hostess make.
’Tis the season for festive merry-making, and, given Scott’s affinity for all things gilded (not to mention rock star Mick Jagger is her long-time boyfriend), we couldn’t think of anyone whose holiday entertaining style we’d want to steal more. From vintage ornaments and Christmas-y scents to gorgeous gifts and what to wear, we ask Scott to share some of her favourite things of the season, because during the holidays, all that glitters is definitely gold.

Model Parent: 12 genetic lottery winners who are turning their good looks into real careers
While coming of age for most kids involves obsessing over Ryan Gosling’s abs or donning an ill-fitting mermaid dress to semi-formal, celebrity kids can burn mileage on what we’re calling “family flame fame.” Celebrity kids are genetic lottery winners: hardwired to be talented, ridiculously good looking and sometimes both. Walking a Marc Jacobs runway show before the age of 18? A very real possibility.
At the sprightly young age of 10, Victoria and David Beckham’s son Romeo has gotten a head start on his career by starring in Burberry’s Spring 2013 advertising. Meanwhile, Cindy Crawford’s eleven-year-old daughter Kaia has fronted Versace’s children’s range.
Celebrity kids are certainly modeling earlier these days and while they may not all live up to the stature of their parents, they’ve certainly got enough moxy to gain It girl status. Here are our top 12 favourite model children.

Top 10 model celebrity couples: In honour of Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine’s engagement, we count ’em down
See our top 10 model celebrity couples »
Rumour has it that Adam Levine has decided to put a ring on it. It, being Victoria’s Secret model Bahati Prinsloo’s finger. Though we find it hard to believe that the singer, who doubles as a notorious modelizer, is wanting to settle down already, the musician’s publicist has confirmed that the engagement rumours are indeed true. Prinsloo and Levine first started dating shortly after the singer’s very public breakup with fellow Angel Anna Vyalitsyna (that has to call for some back stage tension). The tatted Maroon 5 front man and star of hit show The Voice refuses to embrace the womanizer label he’s been given, telling Details Magazine he just really loves women.

Take a look back at 50 seriously stylish years of The Rolling Stones (plus, enter to win your own copy of their new book!)
It’s hard to believe The Rolling Stones are celebrating 50 years together today (or maybe not so hard if you’ve ever gotten a close-up of Mick’s face), but the original rock style gods are indeed ringing the milestone in. You’re welcome, Hedi Slimane/Johnny Depp/Julian Casablancas/Pete Doherty/…Britney Spears?
Starting with the band’s first jaunt on stage at London’s Marquee Club on July 12, 1962, the Stones have been through five decades of riotous partying, hair-raising performances, illustrious relationships and above all else, some of the most amazing singles modern music history’s ever known. To celebrate the Stones’ birthday, music journalist Hanspeter Kuenzeler has teamed up with The eBook People to put together the two-part 50 Years: The Rolling Stones – Views From the Inside, Views From the Outside, a 2000+ page collection of the best journalistic material spanning the band’s half-century-long run. The book will touch on everything from Mick Jagger’s famously stylish marriage in St. Tropez to Bianca Jagger to the various members’ many struggles with drugs (including Brian Jones’ death and Keith Richards’ infamous arrest for possession of heroin in Toronto).

Quotable: Once upon a time she dressed up like Madonna, now this star gets to work with her
Yesterday it was announced that Georgia May Jagger will be the new face of Madonna‘s Material Girl clothing line, appearing in a back-to-school campaign set to launch this fall. While Jagger has appeared in campaigns for Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London cosmetics, working with Madonna seems to be a dream come true. Despite her rather enviable rock ‘n’ roll pedigree (what with Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall being her parents, no big deal) it seems Jagger was quite the Madonna fangirl while growing up. She told Vogue UK:

Previously on Fashion’ween: Karl Lagerfeld »Today for Fashion’ween we’re bringing you one of the most iconic fashion couples of all time: Mick and Bianca Jagger, circa their 1971 wedding in St. Tropez. (You know the one: Bianca in her famed white Yves Saint Laurent white tux. Mick in all his rockstar hotness.) Fair warning: it takes quite a bit of money to achieve this vintage look without, well, going vintage—but then again, Bianca and Mick were rock ‘n’ roll royalty so we think this costume worth going all out for.

Q&A: Todd Lynn’s toughed out tailoring hits the big time
When Todd Lynn moved to London in 1998, we doubt the Smith Falls native guessed that he’d one day be atop the British fashion scene. Already beloved by the likes of Rihanna, Mick Jagger, Courtney Love and fellow Canuck Coco Rocha, the tailor with a hard rock edge was recognized by the British Fashion Council […]
