While many actors and actresses are nowhere near as beguiling as the roles they play, Zoe Saldana—who graces our August 2014 cover—cannot be counted as one of them. Known for nailing roles such as the wildcat Prima Donna of Center Stage, a warrior-princess named Neytiri in Avatar, and Star Trek’s fiercest Lieutenant, Nyota Uhura, Saldana’s is just-as omnipotent off screen. Arriving in L.A.’s Milk Studio for her shoot, alongside her trusted Toto-from-Oz looking dog, Mugsy (who actually tried to pull focus and ran in front of her a couple of times whilst the photographer was snapping), the former dancer-turned-actress/producer twirled, sang and joked during the entire day on set. After busting into Alvin Ailey style choreography and hitting a few Beyoncé high notes while posing for the camera, Saldana sat down with FASHION’s features editor, Elio Iannacci, to chat about the next couple of flicks, which include the next installments to Star Trek, Avatar as well as two new badass roles in Guardians of The Galaxy (as alien martial arts master, Gamora) and Nina, a biopic of civil rights singer/musician Nina Simone, aka the legendary High Priestess of Soul.

She’s been on set with Cate Blanchett, shopped Rodeo Drive with Sofia Coppola and partied with Miuccia Prada in Milan (being the current spokesperson for Miu Miu and all). If that doesn’t signal a gal who is going places, her latest role in this summer’s Maleficent—which has her sharing the silver screen with Angelina Jolie—will. (P.S. she already shared screen time with Brad Pitt in 2006’s Babel and 2008’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).

On the cusp of Fanning’s next phase of fame, FASHION magazine photographed the young starlet for our Summer 2014 Issue in the apropos confines of an estate home in the Hollywood Hills. After she was snapped in outfits by a mix of labels ranging from Blumarine, Delpozo and Paule Ka, Fanning sat down with features editor Elio Iannacci to talk about fashion, film and family time with the Jolie-Pitt clan. Here is a sneak peak of Fanning’s cover story, due to hit newsstand shelves on May 19, 2014.

  • Men’s FASHION Spring 2014 cover: Taylor Kitsch

    Photography by Jim Spellman/WireImage

The recent trajectory of Canadian star Taylor Kitsch’s career is testament to his staying power: after a duo of box office misfires, Kitsch has a series of upcoming movies that are sure to put dubious criticisms to rest. Known best for his role as Tim Riggins, the brooding running back in Friday Night Lights, Kitsch sprung to fame on the big screen for his role as fan favourite Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and as drug kingpin Chon in Oliver Stone’s Savages. Not one to dwell on his career’s more minor moments, Kitsch maintains that he will continue to choose roles in movies he cares about, regardless of the risk factor. Two such films he has slated for 2014 include The Normal Heart, which focuses on the early ‘80s HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City (costarring Mark Ruffalo and Julia Roberts), and Canadian comedy The Grand Seduction, in which Kitsch plays a big-city doctor who descends upon a Maritime village in order to secure a factory contract and save the town from financial ruin.

In an exclusive interview with Men’s FASHION, Kitsch opens up about upcoming films, his love of laying low in his adopted hometown of Austin, Texas, and his foray into a new side of moviemaking with his upcoming directorial debut.

Photographed during an emotional time when her widely successful sitcom was wrapping up its last episode (airing March 31), Smulders cleared her just-as busy film schedule (she has a couple of blockbusters on her plate, including a star turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier) to pose for FASHION Magazine’s April 2014 issue and chat with features editor, Elio Iannacci. • FASHION Magazine February 2014 Cover: Lady Gaga

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been five years since Lady Gaga released her first album, The Fame. The sheer number of images, hits and sound bites the 27-year-old has ushered into popular culture is uncanny. The New York native’s wardrobe choices have inspired lookalike fans and popularized collections from such designers as Jean Paul Gaultier and Hussein Chalayan. Her first fragrance, Fame, launched in 2012, sold six million bottles during its first week. University courses have analyzed her socio-political significance. She’s the only chart-topper to have used the word “transgendered” in a Billboard number one hit (2011’s “Born This Way”), and her 40 million-plus Twitter followers and 60 million Facebook fans have witnessed her fight for equal rights for women and the LGBT community. Last year, Time Magazine’s readers named her the second most influential person of the decade (beating out U.S. President Barack Obama). Unlike so many in her line of work, Gaga’s affection for fashion is not a flirtation.

Whether donning legendary labels, new technologies or message-based garments, the woman formerly known as Stefani Germanotta is a living, breathing canvas. Which is probably why Donatella Versace chose Gaga as the new face of her label. Before her upcoming world tour, Gaga sat down with FASHION‘s features editor Elio Iannacci to talk about her latest obsessions and her current album, Artpop. Here is a sneak peak of the exclusive interview in FASHION Magazine—which will hit newsstands on January 13, 2014.

Love’s flurry of activity is all part of an ongoing comeback plan—one that is clearly winning over a number of fashion houses who have named her a major inspiration.

After wrapping up her cover shoot at Canoe Studios, FASHION’s features editor Elio Iannacci was invited to Love’s home in the New York’s West village to talk about her 30-year-plus career and her next batch of projects. Chatting in front of the same fireplace Hedi Slimane photographed Love in front of for Saint Laurent’s current ad campaign, the pair were surrounded by neat piles of books ranging from classic literature, philosophy and chick lit—titles including The Devil Wears Prada and Valley of The Dolls.
