See our Lana Del Rey style look book »There are so many questions surrounding Lana Del Rey. As one of the most enigmatic pop stars of this generation, the 27-year-old talent stands as a sphinx in a sea of overexposed bold face names. Taking a break from recording “Young and Beautiful“—her just-released track off The Great Gatsby soundtrack—the Queen of Sadcore escaped from the confines of the L.A. studio she was toiling in to spend a day shooting with FASHION magazine in Malibu’s Zuma Beach area. The breath-taking beachfront spot Del Rey handpicked for the cover seemed to transport the crew into her dreamy world of ‘50s pinups and MGM icons, evoking the essence of Lana Del Rey videos off her debut, Born To Die, her latest E.P. Paradise and her new duet, “Summer Wine,” which features her boyfriend Barrie-James O’Neill.
Features Editor, Elio Iannacci had a chance to witness the magic unfold and chat with Del Rey after her epic 10-page photo shoot was done.

FASHION Magazine May 2013 Cover: Isla Fisher
Weeks before Isla Fisher started to prep for the onslaught of worldwide premieres for her latest film, The Great Gatsby, the 37-year-old actress took time out to pose for FASHION’s May 2013 issue and chat with our features editor, Elio Iannacci.
Aside from talking about her upcoming film roles (she has four films slated for release this year), the mother of two and wife of funny man Sascha Baron Cohen talked about her heroes, her style choices and, of course, her thoughts on comedy.
Here are a few of the highlights from the upcoming May 2013 cover story:
On her two favorite red carpet dresses:
“I still love what I wore to the London premier of Wedding Crashers even though I wore it years ago. It was a Chanel pale pink strapless dress. I also love this midnight blue Herve Legere number I wore to the Golden Globes when my husband won for Borat.” -
FASHION Magazine April 2013 Cover: Emily VanCamp
Homegrown actress Emily VanCamp covers FASHION Magazine’s April 2013 issue. In this sneak peek, features editor, Elio Iannacci recounts the best moments from his interview with the actress last month.
Unlike the slick, sly person she plays on the hit TV show, Revenge, Canadian actress Emily VanCamp does not fill her days ruining other people’s lives. In fact, the only thing VanCamp admits to sharing with Emily Thorne—the sociopathic socialite from the ABC hit television series—is her character’s first name. While chatting with us for FASHION‘s April cover story, the Port Perry, Ontario native—who is rumoured to star in the upcoming Captain America sequel—made it clear that she is not going to embark on any ruthless conquests for vengeance any time soon.
Instead, the 26-year-old talent is focusing on honing her craft, choosing the right scripts and, when awards season hits, figuring out best practices for the red carpet. “There is definitely a secret dress code when it comes to Hollywood,” she says. “For awards shows, I feel if you’re nominated for something you can take it to that extra level because it is— in a weird way—your night. When you’re presenting, you need to be demure and understated. I do believe there’s an art to choosing the right dress for the right moment.”

FASHION Magazine March 2013 Cover: Hailee Steinfeld
16-year-old former Oscar-nom Hailee Steinfeld covers FASHION Magazine’s March 2013 issue. In this sneak peek, features editor, Elio Iannacci recounts the best moments from his interview with the actress last month.
When asked where she wanted to meet for her exclusive face-to-face interview for FASHION Magazine’s March 2013 issue, Hailee Steinfeld was strategic about her choice. Picking the Fred Segal café in Santa Monica, the Oscar-nominated actress wanted a place where she was surrounded by racks of designer clothes so after she finished talking shop, she could shop around. On her to-do list was getting a dress that she intended to wear to her 16th birthday party, an invite-only bash that was thrown in her honour at the Rolling Stones Restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard. The Louis Vuitton look she went with may have ended up getting major posts around the net—and a few snaps in People magazine—but the day she met up with me, there was another designer Steinfeld was thinking about.
“I love Prabal Gurung, so he’s always an option,” she says, “I remember sitting in the front row to watch his show at fashion week and the music came on and all these gorgeous clothes had such a message. All these strong-willed women—holding their own—walking down his runway looked as gorgeous as ever. I walked away feeling like that’s what I’d feel like when I would put his clothes on”
