Inside Diner en Blanc: The Secret Parisian Dinner Party With 20,000 Guests Dressed in White
I arrived in Paris for the 30th anniversary of Dîner en Blanc with a handful of questions: How many guests would attend? Where would we be dining? What would we be eating? Would my silver shoes be frowned upon? Can anyone really tell the difference between eggshell and white? This outdoor, all-white dinner party […]

Inside Dîner en Blanc Edmonton: 33 party pictures of stylish all-white ensembles
Last Thursday night, for the second time ever, Edmonton threw its secret all white picnic, Dîner en Blanc, trading in last year’s torrential summer downpour in Louise McKinney Park for one chilly September evening in the heart of downtown Edmonton at Sir Winston Churchill Square. But if anyone was concerned about the un-summer-like temperatures, it […]

The third annual Diner en Blanc comes to Toronto: 25 photos of the stunning all-white event
See the Diner en Blanc photos » Coming back for the third year in a row, the annual Diner en Blanc arrived in Toronto last night, bringing in around 1,400 people decked out in all white to eat, drink and be merry (which seems a little dangerous to do in white attire). This year the […]

Dîner en Blanc hits Edmonton! 25 all-white photos that prove a little rain never hurt anyone
See the photos from Dîner en Blanc in Edmonton »
We may have arrived a little late to the party, but we certainly had a fashionable debut. For the first time ever, the secret, all-white mystery picnic, Dîner en Blanc, landed in Edmonton. Made famous by the city of Paris 25 years ago (and now taking place in cities all over the world), the rain-or-shine event forged on honorably last night through what my waterlogged white dress can only inflate to a mid-summer deluge.
If it sounds like I’m complaining, I am (or was). After all, we had to go shopping for a head-to-toe white outfit, bring our own white tables and chairs, plateware, stemware, napkins and flatware. The food we packed in our white picnic baskets had to be gourmet. We had to leave work early! In the thunder and rain!
Sometimes, if you’re willing to put in a little bit of effort, you get something extraordinary. Equipped with all of the above, upwards of 1,200 people descended on Louise McKinney Park (the secret location is only revealed at the very last minute) and it was some kind of magical.

Inside the second annual Diner en Blanc in Toronto: 40 photos of from last night’s beautiful all-white dinner party

Last night, 1,600 well-dressed Torontonians set up shop in an east end parking lot for the city’s second annual Diner en Blanc. Dreamed up in Paris 25 years ago, the all-white dinner party concept was a major success last year when it launched in the city last summer and participants were eager for a take two. In attempts to avoid last year’s soggy, muddy field when the skies unleashed a torrential downpour on guests set up at Fort York, the event’s organizers opted for a parking lot, which left much to be desired in the way of atmosphere amongst the guests. From these pictures though, the event looked quite beautiful—from the many feathered headdresses and shawls to the bejewelled collar-adornments worn by many males guests.

The rain didn’t stop this white night! 24 pictures from Toronto’s first Diner en Blanc event
Last night more than one thousand white-clad Torontonians flooded Fort York with food and umbrellas in hand for the city’s inaugural Diner en Blanc. The historic location for the pop-up picnic had been kept secret from attendees—many of them kept in the dark until they arrived on shuttle busses chartered for the event. Guests, who brought their own food, tables and cutlery, enjoyed live music and the company of strangers as they picnicked under the drizzling rain. We can’t imagine that food, rain and white clothing are the perfect pairing, but guests were unperturbed by the weather and definitely dined in style.
