Montreal Fashion Week: Ezra Constantine, Caroline Neron, Barilà and more from day four [gallery]
By Ashley Joseph
The last day of fashion week is always bittersweet, but this season, the shows went out in true Montreal style–or at least, adopted Montreal style.
Toronto-based design duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong showed true inspiration at Ezra Constantine, menswear counterpart to Greta Constantine. The dark, androgynous looks in shades of black and blue struck a chord with the Montreal audience and Wong said of showing away from home: “Since we started the menswear, I always felt it was more suited for Montreal. And, from the response, I was right!”

Street style: Easy, breezy in an all-black onesie
We spotted this Lovely working the door at the Ezra Constantine launch and immediately had to know where she picked up this jumpsuit. Surprise answer: Jacob. This all-black ensemble further proves the timeless elegance of the “colour” black. It’s like she’s not even trying, it looks like she was born wearing this silky outfit, complete with subtle jewellery and bow-tied sandals. Well played.

Street style: Safety first
We spotted this week’s Lovely at last night’s Ezra Constantine launch. And while the mixed textures of her all-black outfit are anything but basic (check the little velvet bows on the shoes), it’s her necklace, which she made herself from leather and safety pins, that really makes this look sing. (Turns out she also helped craft the Ezra presentation’s mixed-media accessories.)
See the full look (with bonus necklace close-up) after the jump.

Hot, shirtless male models! (And other news from the Ezra Constantine launch)
When your first sight is a quartet of male models in shiny trunks, fake tattoos and sandals paired with work socks (toes and heels excised for summer) posing by a pool spanned by Grecian columns, you know you’re at a Stephen Wong and Kirk Pickersgill production. The pair, known best for their women’s line, Greta Constantine, decided to throw a party to officially launch their menswear effort Ezra Constantine.

Backstage at Greta Constantine: Shattered glass, shattered eyelashes, male models and more
One of the most talk-about elements of the Greta Constantine show were the shattered-glass accessories, which also inspired the makeup look. M.A.C senior artist Melissa Gibson designed a “shattered lashes” effect that used four different lash styles cut into chunks and placed around the models’ eyes in random patterns. Says M.A.C senior artist Jane McKay, […]

Toronto: Superheros, femme fatales and military men at Greta Constantine
Down in the basement of a Toronto car dealership (Audi, specifically), Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong put on one of the strongest shows we’ve seen for their womenswear label, Greta Constantine (and her little menswear brother, Ezra). Simply put, it was a runway full of gorgeous, wearable clothes that women will want to wear. Ka-ching. […]
