Jonathan Rhys Meyers gets elemental for Hugo Boss
I admit that I do not watch The Tudors. (I’m under a lot of pressure to watch The Wire, okay?) However, one thing I do know about star Jonathan Rhys Meyers is that he is very, very attractive. This is a surprise to no one, least of all Hugo Boss who have made him the face of their new men’s fragrance, Hugo Element.
You’ve probably seen the ad floating around, but we have some extra shots from the TV commercial and one from the launch last year at the London Eye. It’s our Valentine’s Day gift to you, dear reader. Enjoy, after the jump.

Edmonton: Scentsational
Powerful enough to arouse raw emotion, evoke memories and trigger intimacy, fragrances are the most important weapon in a woman’s arsenal of products and potions. Carmela’s Profumeria (12531-102 Ave, 780-455-3336), on the high street in Glenora, is the place to shop for rare scents and couture fragrances, including the infamous Joy by Jean Patou.

I heart Juicy
By Stephanie Trendocher
I remember begging for a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit for Christmas when I was in my first year of college (oh, the shame). Let’s just say the label has stepped it up a notch since then.

Bauble bazaar
By Stephanie Trendocher
Chic Torontonians are drooling over Jenny Bird’s haute handbags and Daniel Espinosa’s baubles and you can scoop up some of their swag at Spoke Club’s Luxury Holiday Bazaar (November 22; 12 – 8 p.m.; 600 King St., W., 4th floor). -
All that glitters
By Stephanie Trendocher
Gold glitter makes me think of the disco, but not Marc Jacobs. Known for his quirky yet charming appeal, Marc Jacobs is continuously finding ways to mix things up. I’ve been on the hunt for the luxurious Daisy eau de parfum, but now I’m holding off for his latest addition to the collection.

The Mother of all moments
Meryl Streep once said “motherhood has a very humanizing effect. Everything gets reduced to essentials”.

Night shift
By Sarah Hankins
The winter months tend to do a number on my hair. It’s lacklustre, sucked dry of moisture and, to top it off, dull. The only technique that really helps is using a weekly hair mask. But even though it works fantastically, the process is time-consuming since the mask needs to absorb into your hair for the best results.

Head trip
By Adriana Ermter
The first beauty products I ever spent my hard-earned $2-an-hour babysitting money on were Finesse Extra Body Shampoo and Conditioner. I was 13 years old, swimming twice a day for the Calgary Aquabelles. Washing my fine, thin, stick-to-my-scalp blonde hair meant more to me than just getting it clean: I was trying to rinse the chlorine smell out and scrub a little feel-good beauty in. My teammate Michelle used Finesse. She had beautifully thick, naturally wavy, blonde hair. I coveted it – and her shampoo. Finesse made me feel like I had half a chance at being pretty.

Sephora Store Event
By Sarah Hankins
Being that Sephora is my ultimate beauty haven, I was incredibly excited to attend a private event at their new Bloor Street location on February 27 with a $100 gift certificate in hand to use as my little heart desired. With six new locations opening by Summer 2008, there’s a lot to get excited about.

A night to remember
November 1st was definitely a night to put into the Fashionable Life history books. With three major events in one evening, the FASHION team was off and running.
First stop was the Sephora store opening on Bloor Street at Avenue Road. Packed to the rafters with the latest, luscious beauty booty, the store also became packed with media types and customers alike. After a short and sweet speech by FASHION beauty director Laura Keogh, guests were left to shop and drink champagne. This fashionable girl had to have the Canadian-made Cake Satin Sugar Hair & Body Refreshing Powder for lighter hues, natch. Also among the loot: cult faves Nars, Philosophy and mineral makeup wonder brand, Bare Escentuals. Note to beauty lovers: Add a Sephora gift certificate to your Christmas list – we already did! The big day is only five weeks away.
