Spring 2013’s statement sunglasses trend: 14 attention-getting frames in every price range
See our 14 statement sunglasses picks »
Sunglasses for spring may not be considered entirely groundbreaking, but this season it’s time to cast aside the traditional aviators and think bigger, brighter, and bolder. Added bonus: a pair that blocks 100 per cent of UVA and UVB rays protects your eyes from being damaged so picking up a couple pairs is really for your health.
The Spring 2013 runways got us thinking about oversized and unique frames but Ron Arad’s out of this world frames sold us on the fact that statement sunglasses are the one accessory we really need. The Israeli architect has not only created completely new shapes for frames but has transformed how they are made by making them completely adjustable, hingeless and only using one piece of material for an entire pair. If that isn’t taking sunglasses to a new and more innovative place, we don’t know what is.
