Jessica Stam is designing a capsule collection for Macy’s. While it’s hard to get excited about yet another collaboration, the fact that Stam is one of our favourite models does have us looking forward to the results. [StyleFrizz]

Lily Allen to stop putting out records and start renting out clothes
Lily Allen plans on leaving music to embark on a fashion gig with her sister. Fashion news: Gaga crashes McQueen show, LiLo’s leggings winner and Chanel’s barnyard
When Lady Gaga announced, via Twitter, that Alexander McQueen would premiere her new single at his Spring 2010 show, streamed live yesterday afternoon, the swarm crashed the servers and we all ended up watching the show in choppy slo-mo. All the better to catch a glimpse of the 10-inch heels. [The Cut]
The Chanel show spectacle had it all: Prince, barnyard chic clothing, models romping in the hay, Uncle Karl, and a show-stealing performance by Lily Allen. [Guardian]

The Paris (Fashion Week) Review: Fresh Chanel and the return of Philo
These dove-grey, gently storming mornings in Paris feel softened by the rain. Trench coats replace leathers, standoffish editors lend umbrella cover, and when I get out of the damp and into a show, the place feels tingly with shared relief. I liked it–til I woke up today and found I had fallen way down the weather. Okay, a confession: the causes might not be all natural. I could be blamed, too, for living on macaroons & menthol lights in between vegetable-free meals. In a word, I feel ick. And if it were any other day, I’d have stayed under the covers and ordered in curry.
But today was Chanel day, and maybe I’m sick in more ways than one, but I genuinely felt I didn’t have a choice. Had to gloss over my head cold, put on major heels and a little gilt, and cab out to Le Grand Palais by 10:30 in the morning. Worth it? Beyond.

War Child’s Heroes
The princess of London is Lily Allen. She is—no exaggeration—everywhere: on enormous billboards, on the radio, on every gossip page, on catwalk playlists, on the February cover of Spin. (She makes a charming appearance in FASHION’s latest issue, too!) And just when you’re starting to feel a bit bothered, she does something you can’t deny is brill. Like cover “Straight To Hell” by The Clash with all the insouciance she can muster, turning a punk classic into ska-lite delight (with the help of one Mick Jones, by the way). The song is a smash, the first whopping success from the covers album Heroes for humanitarian charity War Child. It starts playing in your head every time you see War Child posters on the subway and you think two things: 1. Is there anything Lily can’t get away with? And 2. Oh, right. I was supposed to blog about that album.
