Paris street style: Too-cool schoolgirl
This streeter’s Pepto-pink sweater sure makes you take notice, and your attention is rewarded when you see the other elements of her look: A cool sweatshirt fleece skirt, a brocade bag, ribbed tights and cantilevered shoes, which together give her look a too-cool school uniform air.

Paris notes: Headline-grabbing models are the biggest trend in Paris [gallery]
One of the biggest trends of this Paris runway season has nothing to do with the clothes. Veteran and novelty models have appeared at many shows: Yasmin Le Bon and Angela Lindvall at John Galliano, Amber Valletta, Stella Tennant and Gisele Bündchen at Balenciaga, Anna Dello Russo at Ungaro. But nowhere was the headline-grabbing model message stronger than at Jean Paul Gaultier, who opened and closed his show with the buxom Beth Ditto. The thing about putting larger women on the runway alongside regular models–it always makes the skinny girls look so wrong.

Paris notes: Sunny frocks at Dior, billowing and body-con at Lanvin, and more [gallery]
There was a strange moment yesterday at the Tuileries when a crowd of several dozen photographers made their way towards the big white show tent for the Christian Dior Spring 2011 show.
The tightly-packed group seemed to glide across the gravel like a swarm of bees. Their cameras were held aloft, but the person at the centre of the pack was totally obscured by beefcake bodyguards.
Who could draw such a fuss? Yves Saint Laurent back from the dead?

Giles Deacon has opted to skip the runway in favour of a daisy-shaped podium to present his first collection for Emanuel Ungaro. Also ix-nayed for the presentation: “brash” colours. [WWD]
