Prebiotic Skincare Is the Soothing Balm You Need for Sensitive, Reactive Skin
Jennifer Brodeur, a Montreal-based facialist and the CEO/founder of JB Skin Guru, could easily be running a Level 1 trauma centre for skincare. She recently had a female patient come in with a second-degree burn on her face. The cause? A chemical peel that might as well have been made with battery acid—it was so […]

Why Are More and More People Claiming to Have Sensitive Skin?
In her 1994 hit “Insensitive,” Canadian singer Jann Arden laments being on the receiving end of a cruel breakup. “How do you numb your skin, after the warmest touch?” she asks, searching for ways to avoid getting burned in her next romantic relationship. Allison Williams is the new face of Simple skincare
The cast of HBO’s Girls just keep getting more and more influential. Today it was announced that Allison Williams is the new face of sensitive skincare line Simple. The brand prides itself on having no perfumes, dyes or harsh irritants in its products and it seems like this promise was what drew Williams in.
Given that she portrays the impeccably put-together Marnie (well… at least in the first season of Girls) so well, it’s hard to envision Allison Williams dealing with problematic skin in real life. But indeed, she’s just like the rest of us.

Beauty Fix: Soothe sensitive skin with an all-natural SPF, cure ingrown hairs at the cottage and say sayonara to your itchy scalp in the summertime
Odds are that if you’re someone who prefers crisp winter weather over sizzling summer nights, it’s because your body reacts less than favourably when temperatures rise. While some of us thrive in humidity, others resent it because sticky heat doesn’t just give “fresh, dewy skin”—it also causes an influx of sweat, oil and other unflattering issues. But don’t fret (or sweat!): Beauty Fix is here to help. From irritation brought on by sunscreen to keeping ingrown hairs at bay the natural way, we’re here to soothe your sensitive skin all summer long.

Afternoon beauty fix: A few scents for sensitive skin
What’s the best perfume for sensitive skin? I’m typically reactive but don’t want to give up my love for fragrances!
Non-synthetic fragrances are not necessarily a new phenomenon, though they’re more difficult for perfumers to develop into a sophisticated scent, not to mention more expensive to experiment with. Selection has been limited in the past, but consumers’ recent distaste for chemicals—plus an increasing demand for deeply personal and unique auras—have helped give rise to natural, apothecary-style perfumes of late… and they’re awesome.
