Street Style, Tokyo: 59 photos of Japan’s kawaii fashion at its best
See the street style from Tokyo »
While eyes turn to the four fashion week capitals for the best “in crowd” street style, Asia has proved to be the next frontier in really real IRL dress up.
If we were to name which city in the east has the best street style, Seoul and Tokyo are neck and neck. And with this latest batch snapped by photographers Ania Boniecka and Tyler Stalman, we’re no closer to deciding which stylish city does it best. You can’t deny our love for all things Korea (ahem, matching couples!), but if we were to judge based on zaniness, we’ve got to hand it to the Japanese. Bart Simpson and Disney motifs still hold strong, but hats seem to be the ultimate staple to completing an outfit, judging from this collection of style snaps. Walking and posing (with obligatory peace signs, of course) in the heart of Tokyo’s most stylish district, Harajuku, you can surely find a generation of the hip and young dressed in everything from kawaii Lolita-styled dresses to goth-like ensembles to just plain chic. To be honest, we don’t think anyone can pull off quirky, punk and cute as effortless as them. Find it hard to believe? Here are 61 photos to prove it.

Snapped by Tommy Ton: “It makes you want to go on vacation”
“August is vacation month in Europe, and most people in Italy go away. So I chose something very summery that many people are attempting right now: the midriff-revealing crop top. I like the idea of Carlotta’s mixed proportions: It’s a crop top over a skirt that has horizontal stripes and is floor-length. She’s able to […]

Street Style, On The Run: 23 stylish shots from outside Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s tour in Toronto
See the shots from On The Run in Toronto »
For those who remember dressing up to go see The Backstreet Boys because obviously they’d scoop you out from the crowd just to compliment your outfit, you’ll understand the supreme need for fans to dress up for Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The duo’s co-billed On The Run tour hit Toronto last night and as predicted, it was epic. Even with the dueling Lady Gaga concert next door at the ACC, the city’s (Skydome) Rogers Centre was ablaze with fans styled to the nines in #Flawless merch and Beyoncé-inspired outfits. See our favourite looks from outside, shot just before the Carters gave it up like not many other couples can.

Now, we’re zooming in even closer at street style’s most interesting sub-trend: identically-dressed pairs.

14 clever, new ways to layer inspired by street style’s hottest stars
Summertime might seem like an odd time to broach the topic of layers but hear us out. Unlike winter when the weather ranges from cold to colder and your winter boots and leather leggings are a safe bet, summer can be a bit tricky when it comes to outfit planning. Cold nights with days ranging between sweltering and monsoon-like or downright chilly, layers seem to be the perfect answer to our everyday wardrobe conundrums. Layering up our wardrobe is going to be our secret weapon when it comes to standing out, practically, this season.
We’re talking about new ways to pile on the clothes, like the ultra-inventive dress over pants look or the complicatedly chic skirt, over jeans, over a shirt. It’s all about layering up your pieces in new ways, affording you endless options. So unlike Rihanna’s CDFA barely-there dress, less is not more this time around—more is more.

World Pride Week 2014: 43 photos from Toronto’s biggest summer event
See the shots from World Pride Week 2014 »
World Pride Week 2014 is officially over and we’re missing it already. The 10-day-long event was the biggest one yet, and of course, the week came to a close with Sunday’s epic parade, which saw its fair share of water guns, rainbow flags and incredible costumes. The delightfully sun-drenched parade involved over 12,000 participants this year (more than double the number from 2013’s closing event!).
Pride Week wouldn’t be complete without some amazing street style, and Toronto didn’t disappoint (does it ever?). Check out 43 snaps of the city’s finest from Pride Week 2014.

Snapped by Tommy Ton: “Something new, something borrowed, something used!”
“I remember moments based specifically on outfits, and when I was thinking about what photo would be perfect for this time of year, this image of Ece Sukan immediately came up. It’s from a couple of years ago in Milan, but when an outfit stands out in your mind, I think it stands the test […]

Underground Pizza Party: 20 street style snaps of hot babes (and Macauley Culkin!) eating pizza during NXNE
Underground Pizza Party pics »
If you had told me back in the early ‘90s that, one day, I’d be at a pizza party hosted by Macauley Culkin, I would have never believed you. And then, obviously, I’d have done this. Well, this very far-flung fantasy came true last Friday when the actor-turned-singer hit Toronto to perform as part of NXNE 2014 with his band Pizza Underground. Just as the name implies, the band exclusively covers The Velvet Underground but replaces lyrics with pizza-related references (“Stephanie Says” is now “Papa John Says,” for example). So, there we were on a sunny Friday afternoon, eating pizza while being serenaded by Culkin and his band, all the while scoping for outfits on the appropriately dressed guests. Local pizza-enthusiast Natalie Petozzi (she just launched a pretty epic pizza blog) went so far as to wear a pizza sash while snacking on the deep-dish delight. Safe to say, it was a pretty epic way to start off the weekend.
