Kate Middleton unveils a new bespoke wardrobe while commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I
See what Kate Middleton wore today »
One (of many) reasons why we love all things Kate Middleton: she can rock both casual and elegant, effortlessly. Last week may have called for casual attire and recycled pieces to fit a relatively active week, but for her two latest royal appearances, Kate was back to showing off bespoke (and new!) tailored goodness, which of course is making us jump for joy on this Tuesday.
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War I when Germany invaded Belgium, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge flew to Liège, where they represented the Queen to attend a series of receptions and services. The Cambridges were given a warm welcome by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium who hosted an international service at L’Abbaye Saint-Laurent, a military hospital, for 50 other heads of state. Hopping from one private luncheon to a reception at Mons Town Hall to paying tribute to the fallen at the St. Symphorien Military Cemetery, you can be sure Kate needed an outfit to keep her looking stylish throughout the day. And boy, did she choose a goodie. Opting for a neutral coloured look for the solemn day, Kate debuted a custom-made creamy-white coatdress by Alexander McQueen, which consisted of features from different pieces of the current designer label’s collection like a fitted bodice, a drop waist pleated skirt and a Peter Pan collar. While she matched her look with a box clutch by McQueen, she added a hint of colour with an ombre pink ruffled designed Jane Taylor Millinery hat to complete her bouncy half-up hairstyle, subtly revealing her hybrid earrings: Annoushka pearls and Kiki McDonough hoops. And no neutral-coloured outfit is complete without her trusty pair of L.K Bennett pumps.

Kate Middleton continues to recycle sporty standards at the Commonweath Games

Kate Middleton and Prince William showed up on Day 2 of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland and once again, we see her Royal Highness attending today’s events in an outfit that is seriously giving us some serious deja vu.
Prior to watching the athletics together, the royal couple momentarily split off to attend separate receptions hosted by charitable organizations they are patrons for. While the princes visited young aspiring coaches of the Coach Core program at the Gorbals Leisure Centre, Kate attended a small mentoring session for 15 of the top British athletes hosted by SportsAid, an organization that supports and helps the young gen British athletes. If you recall, the Duchess has previously showed her support back in October when she made her first appearance since the birth of Prince George where she elegantly played a game of volleyball in her casual wear uniform.

Royal baby meets butterflies: Peep the adorable new family portraits revealed in honour of Prince George’s first birthday
New family portraits have been released on the eve of Prince George’s first birthday and we’re absolutely smitten. (what else is new) Though the public is seeing them for the first time, the family portrait, photographed by Press Association photographer John Stillwell, was actually taken a few weeks ago when the Royal family visited Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the National History Museum before heading over to Wimbledon.
Both candid photos show the Royal family in an informal setting, happily observing and pointing out the many butterflies fluttering around. One photo shows the family looking up in the same direction with Georgie adorably reaching into the air, but we can’t stop smiling at the second picture where the trio is sitting on a bench with the curious little prince on Kate Middleton’s lap ready to touch the Blue Morpho butterfly resting on his father’s hand. Honestly, can they be any more perfect? (Nope)

Kate Middleton makes us green with envy in Erdem and Jonathan Saunders at two sporting events this weekend
See Kate Middleton’s weekend style »
We all know when it comes to sports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are big fans, so it’s always nice to see the royal duo come out and support British athletes and sporting events hosted by the United Kingdom. Plus, it gives us an excuse to talk about all things Kate Middleton. This past Saturday, Kate joined Prince William and Prince Harry to kick off the launch of the Tour de France at Harewood House in Leeds. Quite the treat for the competing 22 teams, the royal trio greeted and waved off the anxious riders as they embarked on their 2, 272 mile four-country race that starts off in Leeds and finishes off in Paris. For the day’s event, the Duchess chose a bright green wool coat by Erdem from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection, which we last saw on her during the royal tour Down Under when the Cambridges visited Cambridge. The knee-length tailored coat was worn over a similar hue printed silk dress by Suzannah. Although it was hidden this time, knowing Kate, she’ll recycle this dress in no time. Allowing her coat to be the statement piece, she teamed it with a neutral-coloured clutch by L.K. Bennett and matching patent pumps by the same designer and added a pair of emerald earrings that coordinated accordingly to her outfit, as usual.

The more you know: Kate Middleton’s grandmother was a wartime code breaker!
See this look in our Kate Middleton style gallery »
Kate Middleton and Alexander McQueen really are a match made in style heaven. The Duchess of Cambridge showed her love for the label again today during a visit to England’s Bletchley Park. She looked radiant in a white double-breasted blouse and navy skirt from McQueen’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection. Both pieces feature gold fastenings, the skirt with gold anchor-embossed button embellishments. A repeat outfit from 2011, Kate proves once again that she has the military-chic look down to a T.
Her visit marked the completion of a yearlong, £8 million restoration project returning the heritage and education site to its former World War II appearance. A project significant to the Duchess as her grandmother Valerie Glassborow managed the interception of enemy signals during the war at Bletchley. Valerie and her twin sister Mary worked as duty officers in the Cover Management Y section in 1944. Kate met with code breakers who worked with her grandmother and tried intercepting and decoding a Morse code message herself, donning a pair of headphones and using a replica radio. Too cool.

Prince George shows off his first steps while Kate Middleton wears Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane
See Kate Middleton’s style from this weekend »
It was quite the Kate Middleton-filled weekend with our favourite royal making three official appearances donning some things old, some things new and some things blue.
In honour of Queen Elizabeth II, the royal family paraded down the streets of London for the Trooping The Colour, The Queen’s annual birthday celebrating complete with 1,400 officers, 200 horses and 400 hundred musicians. While Prince William and Prince Charles rode on horseback, the Duchess of Cambridge accompanied Prince Harry and The Duchess of Cornwall in a horse-drawn carriage waving at crowds of onlookers. Stepping out in a second new outfit of the week, Kate once again opted for Alexander McQueen (it’s her third time wearing the British designer brand at the annual event), looking elegant as ever. Dressed in a bespoke icy blue skirt suit, which featured an embroidered crop jacket, the structured peplum detail stylishly accentuated her slight body. Matching accordingly with a Jane Taylor hat, she added pearl jewellery that including a never-before-seen pearl brooch and pearl-dropped earrings by Annoushka, and finished off with a simple taupe box clutch by Alexander McQueen.
