  • MTV’s Jessi Cruickshank wants you to shop her closet

    nov09JessiMTV1_lg

Jessi Cruickshank is selling off the contents of her closet for This Is My Dress (mtv.ca/mydress), an auction the After Show co-host hopes will raise $8,500 to build a school in Kenya for the youth-helping-youth organization Free The Children (freethechildren.com). Bidding starts today on a cache of dresses that includes pieces from Canadian designers, a few international heavy-hitters and some sweet vintage finds. (There are even frocks from the wardrobes of Hills cast members.)

After the jump, we check out some of the dresses and chat with Cruickshank about living in a mud hut, Lauren Conrad’s contribution and what she wore when Brody Jenner sat in her lap.

  • Spooky beginnings

When the re-configured team behind the once-a-year Fashion Cares soiree decided to move the event from May to November, we were a little surprised. It all made sense however when the theme of the evening was revealed and Fashion sCares was born.

  • A luminous weekend

This past weekend saw the launch of the 2008 edition of Luminato, Toronto’s festival of arts and creativity. Along with the plays and concerts, FASHION made time for some partying, natch. We were invited to the Giorgio Armani Luminato Opening Night Gala, which took place at the R.O.M. The main room, full of business and arty types, had an Indian buffet and a stage for performances by belly dancers and contortionists.

  • Can’t stop, won’t stop

Shown: Jeanne Beker at the Bratz Diesel afterparty at Atelier.

After a little siesta on day three of Fashion Week, it was time to get going yet again, this time stopping by superswank Atelier on King Street West for fashion maven Jeanne Beker’s birthday party/launch of her new passion-for-fashion Bratz doll, a collaboration with Diesel.

  • Toronto Fashion Week: Day two

    The beat goes on

Shown: ET Canada’s Kim D’Eon and Cheryl Hickey at the Heart Truth Cocktail.

Day two of Toronto Fashion Week was off and running last night, starting at the Heart Truth Fashion Show for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, where some Canadian femmes strutted their fabulousness down the runway in red dresses by our fave local designers, such as, Pink Tartan and Comrags.

  • Q&A with Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank

The Hills Season 3, Part 2

Just days before the highly anticipated premiere of part two of season three of The Hills, FASHION sat down with The Hills Aftershow hosts Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank to discuss the upcoming episodes, their fashionable lives and what they’re wearing this spring.

Are you two as excited for the new eps as we are?

  • Day Two: It’s raining men

Slightly soggy but still devastatingly stylish, FASHION headed back to the tents for round two. On the way into the media lounge, we spotted our fave male fashionista and ultimate charmer, Fashion File‘s Adrian Mainella. After a quick catch-up and an air kiss or two, FASHION sprinted back to our seats for the evening’s shows.

  • Insider scoop: Our 30th party!

What was a girl to do with the party of the year fast approaching? Why, borrow a fabulous floor-length gown, pull out the mile-long faux eyelashes, grab her best red lipstick and pop the champagne. And luckily for her, in true girlie style, she had her co-workers alongside her to chat, drink, and ooh and ahh over every hair, makeup, and dress moment leading up to the big night.
