Well. It looks like spring is finally here. (The key words in that sentence being “looks like.”) It’s been lovely and sunny out and I even let my bare, pasty legs run free on the way to dinner last weekend. Then those bare legs and I walked home freezing when the sun went down and took all the day’s spring-like heat with it.

I’m not buying it. And neither are you, I’d bet. It’s not that we’re cynical, it’s just that we’re Canadian. We’ve been burned before. After last Tuesday’s snow-y tantrum, I just don’t trust this spring weather, no matter what the 14-day forecast has to say. With this in mind, I approach spring (and my spring wardrobe) the same way every year: cautiously and with a plan.

It’s not that you can’t have fun with this season—you absolutely can. And you should! You’re probably still fighting off a case of the winter SADs.

Here I give you six key weird weather apropos staples to wear all schizophrenic season long.

Last week, Jessica and Hoyt called it quits and Jason and Jessica got it on, Tommy took a beating for Sam, and the Festival of Tolerance was being ruined by a royal assassination attempt by an Antonia-controlled Eric.

Where’s my giftbag?
-The festival fray is still in full havoc as Antonia orders her vamp slaves to kill the King and Sookie makes her way to the stage to prevent Eric from killing Bill.
-There’s some back and forth as both Bill and Eric trade off on who gets the upper hand, while Nan Flan does damage control/kills stray bewitched vamps.
-Before Eric can kill Bill, Sookie uses her fairy powers and zaps him, causing his memories to come flooding back: His living days as a Viking, his first time meeting Sookie, his beef with Russell, and his amnesia days with Sooks.
-Sookie and Eric stare at each other with a mix of uncertainty and emotion, soap opera–style.
-Antonia realizes her spell over Eric is broken and looks sadly at all the hurt festival-goers crying amongst the 1-800-Got-Dentist and Blackberry booths, then splits.
-Bill spares Eric when he realizes he’s his old self and goes to help Nan Flan with damage control.
-Eric and Sookie look meaningfully at each other, again, soap opera–style.

Sarah Jessica Parker is “out,” as Heidi Klum would say. Just a year and seven months after SJP signed on as the chief creative officer of Halston Heritage, the relationship has come to an end. Perhaps the recent departure has to do with Halston letting go its CEO, Bonnie Takhar, last November. According to British Vogue, upon hearing of the company’s sayonara to Takhar, Parker was in tears.

On a less dramatic note, it’s quite possible that the label needed a more practically experienced leader. Parker herself is more of a fashion enthusiast than an educated designer. Or maybe it was a question of commitment. In addition to working for Halston, Parker has been a busy woman: raising kids, producing reality shows, and filming and promoting movies. To quote her upcoming blockbuster, I Don’t Know How She Does It.

As the industry-wide game of musical chairs continues, we wonder who will take Parker’s place. Those are some pretty high heels to fill.
