Fashion news: Gaga crashes McQueen show, LiLo’s leggings winner and Chanel’s barnyard
When Lady Gaga announced, via Twitter, that Alexander McQueen would premiere her new single at his Spring 2010 show, streamed live yesterday afternoon, the swarm crashed the servers and we all ended up watching the show in choppy slo-mo. All the better to catch a glimpse of the 10-inch heels. [The Cut]
The Chanel show spectacle had it all: Prince, barnyard chic clothing, models romping in the hay, Uncle Karl, and a show-stealing performance by Lily Allen. [Guardian]

The Paris (Fashion Week) Review: Studs, chiffon and chablis
To play the official sport of Paris Fashion Week—people watching!—you have to find the right arena. Friday was tricky. Dior at the Tuileries: too rich. Vivienne Westwood: too London. Maison Martin Margiela: too exclusive—the location of our invite was, like most things about Margiela, a mystery. So to find the girls who made Left Bank a synonym for “just right,” I went to their patroness, Isabel Marant: too perfect! Really, I thought it would never end, the stream of chicer-than-thou girls and garconnes—all with leather jackets and lethal heels, mixing metals and chiffons, letting python bags and uncoiled manes swing. Watching, I wished suddenly for a break with such good taste. For someone, anyone, to commit some breathtaking faux pas.

Tim Gunn may not like the whole Lindsay Lohan/Ungaro thing, but apparently it’s all his fault. Also, rumour in the Twitter-verse is that some buyers have declined invites because of Lohan’s involvement. Even if that’s true, we bet that show is going to be a mad house. [FWD, Fashionologie]

Are you ready for some football? Alexander Wang mixed sweatshirt fleece and caramel leather for a pigskin-inspired spring collection.
Jason Wu went crazy with pattern and colour, but the show somehow still seemed refined. Cathy Horyn thought it was all a bit precious. [Style.com, NYTimes]
A video “prequel” to Gareth Pugh’s Spring 2010 collection, which reveals the line’s inspiration, debuted last night on showstudio.com. It’s suitably bizarre. [Showstudio]

Leggings, ahoy! Lindsay Lohan joins Emanuel Ungaro
OMG. The rumours were true–La Lohan has been appointed artistic advisor to the the house of Emanuel Ungaro. This news comes with the installation of Estrella Archs as chief designer for the label, replacing wünderkind Esteban Cortazar, who left the house amid swirls of the LiLo coming aboard. This is all very…odd.

Esteban Cortazar is out at Ungaro
It’s official: Esteban Cortazar is through at Emanuel Ungaro after only three collections. No reasons were given, but the scuttlebut has been that the Colombian designer had a falling out with the company over a possible collaboration with La Lohan. No successor has been named, but the announcement is expected soon. [WWD]

There’s no reason the new Do My Back extendable foam application thing should lead Daily Reads. We just love cheesy videos. [via Spoiled Pretty]

Daily reads: More sneaker collabs, the original Seventh Avenue and Madonna for LV (again)?
Le Running? Puma and YSL’s Stefano Pilati have collaborated on a new sneaker design. But how does it compare to the Kanye/Louis Vuitton shoe? [WWD, HypeBeast]
Speaking of LV, word on the street is that Madonna will once again be the face (and yoga-body) of the line’s Fall campaign. [The Cut]

Does this mean that Lindsay Lohan hasn’t actually turned to Internet dating to find true love? We’re shocked. Really. [The Cut]
