Fashion with compassion: Cashmere Bathroom Tissue’s annual runway show
For the past eight years, Canada’s top designers have joined forces with Cashmere Bathroom Tissue to put together what may very well be the most unique fashion show on the planet: the White Cashmere Collection. Presented this past Wednesday at Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario, the Collection of bathroom-tissue outfits supports the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, heralds the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and boggles the mind (how is that made out of toilet paper?!).

First look: 10 things we love from the Brose Fall 2010 collection
After extensively dabbling in the business of fashion–she’s done marketing at Holt Renfrew and buying at the Bay and Bloomingdales and designing for Chloe, Pink Tartan and AlexSandro Palombo–Canadian designer Marika Brose has settled down to do her own thing with her clothing line Brose (marikabrose.com), now in its fourth season.
Her most recent labour of love is her Fall 2010 collection and it’s crystal clear this modeuse knows what she’s doing. Brose turns a rich variety of fabrics–luxe brocades, burn-out velvets, sheers and even jersey–into tulip skirts, sharp jackets and deceivingly simple dresses.
Although the midsummer heat makes December feels light years away, some of these pieces are already having us ponder our holiday party wardrobe.

Tuesday we were headed to the recently opened Jezebel on the hip Ossington strip where Joe Fresh and Rethink Breast Cancer were launching the latest incarnation of the cute bullseye tee.
