Looks We’d Love to Steal From the Fall 2019 Menswear Shows
Gender neutral clothing lines have become the norm as opposed to an outlier, and the merging of men’s and women’s looks into a single show demonstrates how the fashion week format is changing, but it was really this year’s past red carpet that made the best argument for the dissolution of binary gendered codes of […]

How Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen Inspired Me to Start Shopping in the Men’s Section
My obsession with Mary Kate and Ashley’s wardrobes goes a long way back. I, like many others, grew up watching Holiday In The Sun, Switching Goals and When In Rome, and have always dreamed of becoming my own version of an Olsen twin. From coveting their matchy-matchy Passport to Paris’ outfits to their all-grown-up cool attitudes in New […]

Why I’m banning the word “tomboy”
This autumn, we’ll have the option of dressing like boys again. If you do (and we’ve all been there), you’ll mention “tomboy” along the same names we’ve been bringing up since 2013. Names like Ruby Rose, Kendall Jenner, and anybody in high tops have religiously evoked the playful and androgynous spirit reserved for “relaxed” and/or […]

The Little Mermaid hits fashion week!
We just got totally envious of guy style. British designer Bobby Abley just debuted his Little Mermaid menswear collection in London and it’s “playful meets masculine” at its best. From Sebastian stamped sweaters to seashell tees and matching board shorts, this 90’s inspired line will have us all running to the guys’ department come fall.
Abley’s show had the slouchy skateboarder look down pat as his models walked in boxy sweaters, shredded tanks and skintight Hawaiian prints. Their looks were complete with Vans sneakers and custom Ariel-inspired skateboards designed by Danny Hyland. As a nod to the mermaid herself, Abley featured one female look starring a redhead model in a crop top and lipstick print board shorts. A clever take on “Kiss the girl” if we do say so ourselves. Iridescent fabrics also flooded the catwalk, which sent the wow factor through the roof. If this designer hasn’t been on your radar, he’s sure to be making a splash now.
