Emma Stone vs. Kim Kardashian: Who wore the menswear look best?
See the menswear-inspired looks »
Kim Kardashian is all about the unexpected lately. Riding the high of her current Vogue cover, she’s been flexing in many things other than her signature form-fitting look. Earlier this week at the star-studded event in support of California congressional candidate Marianne Williamson, Kardashian stepped out in a perfectly-executed menswear look by Paris-based label Faith Connection. Equal parts slick and asset baring, the all-black (everything) jumpsuit and tuxedo jacket really hit the menswear nail on the head.

Antonio Azzuolo Fall 2014: The bespoke men’s tailor delves into womenswear for next season
See the Antonio Azzuolo Fall 2014 collection »
Tailors tend to breed talented offspring. Dries Van Noten, Domenico Dolce, Emmanuel Ungaro—they’re all cut from families of exacting cloth. Menswear designer Antonio Azzuolo is part of that club, having been raised by two in Montreal. After years in the business (15 in creative roles at Ralph Lauren, Hermès, Gap and Kenneth Cole, and six at the helm of his own bespoke line) he launched womenswear for Fall 2014, bringing old school tailoring techniques into new territory for next season. In his post-show Q&A with ROM curator Alexandra Palmer last night in Toronto, Azzuolo spoke of adaptation—something he’s clearly done in this collection. His full canvas method (all the handiwork goes on below the surface, allowing for the outside to maintain perfect shape) was applied to both men’s and women’s belted coats. Wool culottes were worn overtop loose-fitting trousers for understated statement making effect. Meanwhile, a sixties mod feel was woven through, with graphic alpaca sweaters done in magenta, maroon and white with unfinished hems which were layered over perfect white shirts.

Naked & Famous celebrates 5 years with a covetable capsule collection for men
See the Naked & Famous capsule collection »
We’re not ones to turn down a celebration, especially when it’s in honour of a cool Canadian brand. That’s why we’re currently all over Naked & Famous’s capsule collection designed for its five-year anniversary in the denim biz.
Sure, the pieces are men’s but we’re always up for the challenge of appropriating menswear for ourselves and if you’re a guy looking for a summer closet update, this is exactly what you need.
Since 2009, the Canadian brand has specialized in high-quality Japanese raw denim and now, designer Brandon Svarc has teamed up with Toronto denim mecca Over the Rainbow—located in Yorkville—to create an exclusive 10-piece capsule collection.

60 hours of male model goodness! We’re livestreaming Band of Outsiders’ “Longest Show Ever”
We already knew Scott Sternberg was a bit of a genius, but his latest stunt for Band of Outsiders is particularly so. The perennially cool brand has taken the spectatorship of fashion shows to a whole new level, putting one dapper and evidently cooperative model into a “small compartment built from cardboard boxes and wood […]

They said/We said: The British Fashion Council has announced that a new menswear fashion week is coming to London
Good news for gentlemen everywhere—the British Fashion Council has announced the creation of a new menswear fashion week. Dubbed London’s “fashion long week(end),” the new shows will run for three days starting June 15 and also precede Milan and Paris men’s fashion weeks every January and June.
The planning committee, run by GQ editor Dylan Jones, has been under pressure to re-establish British menswear—the fashion long weekend’s previous incarnation as a one-day event lost buyers and press because it overlapped with the first day of Milan womenswear collections. This year there may still be some timing conflicts: the debut shows are expected to be a big to-do, as they’ll fall smack dab in the middle of the London 2012 Olympics hullabaloo.

Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell, Emile Hirsch, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, and Tim Roth walk Prada’s Fall 2012 Menswear show. But who did it best?
Miuccia Prada rounded up her men for Prada’s Fall 2012 menswear collection with a mouth-full of a title: Prada Presents: Il Palazzo. A Palace of Role Play.
In typical Prada fashion, there was plenty of pattern-on-pattern clashing, and ornate prints turned into football helmets—aboriginal headdresses upon closer inspection. This time, mixed into the model assortment were actors Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell, Emile Hirsch, Adrien Brody, and Tim Roth. (Who better to walk a collection based on role play?) Double-breasted suits and Hugh Hefner robes were the wears of choice, complete with a dangling pair of rose-coloured glasses (get it?).
