Spotted: Mary-Kate Olsen *Not* Wearing All Black
In a rare deviation from her and her sister’s usual black, monochromatic ensembles, Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted wearing a bright red coat in New York recently. How Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen Inspired Me to Start Shopping in the Men’s Section
My obsession with Mary Kate and Ashley’s wardrobes goes a long way back. Introducing Elizabeth and James Nirvana, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s newest fragrance collab
While you may have owned an assortment of Olsen twin-branded drugstore fragrances in the mid-’90s, the multi-millionaire moguls’ newest offering is of a much different calibre. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have ditched the pre-teen scent scene and entered the world of adult fragrance with two alluring eau de parfums. Launched as an extension of their contemporary Elizabeth and James brand, Elizabeth and James Nirvana White and Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black hit Sephora shelves this month and are sure to, for lack of a better cliche, fly off them.
Because in the era of just about every personality wanting to grow their brand—and audience— with a fragrance, it was actually consumer demand that prompted Sephora to partner with the Olsens. “Roughly two years ago, Sephora’s Kendo division — the development arm that handles strategic partnerships — approached Mary-Kate and Ashley after a fashion market research survey commissioned by the beauty retailer continually referenced the Olsens’ Elizabeth and James brand,” WWD reported in November.

Fashion news: Smell like Lady Gaga, Selfridges apologises for gallows McQueen display, and is a naked mannequin obscene?
Selfridges sheepishly tweeted “We apologise for any offence caused. It was not intentional and the dress has been removed.” They’re referring to the Alexander McQueen dress that is hanging on a gallows in their display window in Manchester. So, uh, what I they thinking? [Racked]
Remember when designer/Britain’s Next Top Model judge Julien MacDonald said “You can’t have a plus size girl winning — it makes it a joke”? In a scrambling attempt to dig himself out of his hole, he told Grazia he was misquoted, claiming that “I think there is room for everyone in fashion, but if you’re a plus sized model the opportunities are less.” [The Cut]
