TIFF 2014: Toronto’s top socials hit Casa Loma for the annual Artists for Peace and Justice gala
See the TIFF 2014 party pics » The cobblestones winding down to the Artists for Peace and Justice gala in Casa Loma’s garden Sunday night might as well have been an Extreme TV elimination challenge. Guests gingerly descended the hill hoping not to turn an ankle or snap a heel, and at least one socialite […]

TIFF 2013: Scarlett Johansson, Jude Law, Mila Kunis, Jessica Chastain and more stop by the Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew
See all the pictures from the Variety Studio at Holt Renfrew »
Considering Holt Renfrew hosts the TIFF Variety Studio every year, one would expect all the stars to be immaculately dressed (quick shop before the presser, anyone?). Well it seems someone must have been thinking like us because all the celebs were dressed to the nines in their designer wares.
A newly-engaged Scarlett Johansson was spotted perusing the men’s section (buying goodies for her fiancé, perhaps?) in a paneled plaid/leather dress by Sachin + Babi. Paired with chunky, patent, platform Robert Clergerie loafers, it was a total ‘90s throwback. The only thing that had us a little confused was her pin-up girl hair, which seemed a bit too fussy for her elegant-grunge look.
As expected, Third Person co-stars Mila Kunis and Olivia Wilde both knocked it out of the proverbial park with their haute wares. The Black Swan star chose a very slimming/Slimane (get it?) Saint Laurent tuxedo and Nicholas Kirkwood heels, while Wilde went a little more unconventional in an embellished Marios Schwab top and skirt and Jimmy Choo heels.

TIFF 2013: $20,000 got Maria Bello into the pool for charity at yesterday’s Artists for Peace and Justice lunch

How far will Maria Bello go to raise money to build schools in Haiti? We found out on Sunday afternoon when she threw herself into Michael Budman’s pool on a $20,000 dare. The Roots co-founder had offered the donation to Artists for Peace and Justice for anyone who went for a spontaneous swim. And Bello was game, even though her red Marc Jacobs pantsuit was most likely dry clean only.
The bash took place in Budman’s park-like backyard, which has a full-size hockey rink in one corner, and space for a stage in the other. In between, Colin Firth, Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis and Adrien Brody were among the 200 curled on Roots hockey blankets or lounging on white sofas to hear performances by Daniel Lanois, Michael Bolton and Rufus Wainwright.

TIFF 2011: Keshia Chanté, Lauren Lee Smith, Fefe Dobson, and a bunch of boys miming with girly gifts in the IT Lounge
To lure the stars in town for TIFF, Toronto-based PR agency NKPR held a packed-to-the-chic-gills IT Lounge. The fashionable and free were on offer up during the fest, so the most important question can now be answered: Who stopped by?
Visitors for the most part held Canadian passports, with a few internationals getting their swag visa stamped. Those spotted included: Keshia Chanté, Howie D, Taryn Manning, Russell Peters, Paul Haggis, Dustin Milligan, Dean McDermott, Billy Boyd, Lauren Lee Smith, and many more from the world’s of television, film and music.

TIFF partysphere: Everyone was at the Soho House again last night. And Emily Blunt was sitting on Ewan McGregor’s lap!
The Grey Goose Soho House hosted all the A-listers again last night for the third night in a row as the casts from Albert Nobbs, Your Sister’s Sister, and The Deep Blue Sea stopped by throughout the night. A sans-Daniel Craig Rachel Weisz looked insanely gorgeous in a floor-length grey and black gown, Emily Blunt sat on Ewan McGregor‘s lap while Olivia Wilde and director Paul Haggis talked about their matching leather jackets. (We made that up, we didn’t hear them, but they had matching jackets.)

TIFF party pics: Martin Sheen shows us his underwear and Paul Haggis kisses Josh Brolin
Seeing jokester Paul Haggis kissing Josh Brolin is almost too good to be true. Seeing this the same evening as Martin Sheen showing cameras his underwear just isn’t fair.
The red carpet at the the Artists for Peace and Justice Fundraiser for Haiti event last night at the Toro After Dark space was, without a doubt, the most fun step and repeat in the city. Haggis turned to Brolin to give him a big smoocher on the mouth, which was followed by Brolin exclaiming, “that’s it, my career is OVER!”
This was probably the second best moment of the evening, which was promptly followed by Martin Sheen being encouraged to show us his Ellen Degeneres-gifted briefs–in exchange for a $1,000 donation to Haiti. To his publicist’s utter chagrin (who, for the record, was somewhat like a real life Lloyd from Entourage) he turned around, undid belt, dropped a bit of trou, turned back and showed us those briefs. But it’s for a good cause right?
