Olivier Theyskens‘ wanted to be a girl: “When I was young, about six, I was very jealous of girls because I wasn’t one of them. I was always imagining what it is to be a beautiful girl.” But he got over it: “Because I am a perfectionist, it put me off the idea. So I quickly became Olivier. Fashion news: Tom Ford launches lipstick and plunders design houses, Ungaro not for sale and light-up Choos sell out
It’s no secret that Tom Ford is making a foray into womenswear, but he’s remained mum on the details of his design team. Word is that the designer has nabbed Caroline Tixier from Givenchy and accessories designer Pablo Coppola from Alexander McQueen. [The Cut]
But before we can see his Fall 2010 women’s collection, Ford is expanding his Private Blend collection to include lipstick. Available in June, the line includes 12 “universally flattering colors,” because as Ford says, there is “no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip.” We’re hard pressed to disagree.
