They said/We said: Versace for H&M shows up on eBay a week before it launches in-store
While not-yet-released Versace for H&M wares showed up on Chinese e-tail sites a few days ago, a more trustworthy option has now surfaced for the fast-fashion fans who just can’t wait to get their hands on the collection. With over a week to go until the Donatella-designed pieces are officially available, select styles and sizes of the coveted wares have been popping up on eBay—and with the majority of sellers living in New York City, the main culprits are Tuesday night’s party goers who are selling off their swag-bag items.
The launch party was the only time clothing and accessories from the collection have been available so far, and the gift bags and purchasable items from the party quickly appeared online, marked up by almost 50 percent. While there hasn’t been much bidding action yet, there are still a few days remaining. We can’t wait to see how much the already-popular floral pleated dress is going to sell for—but with the current bid at US$159 we’re sure it will skyrocket.

TIFF swag: Peep the Canadian-made goodies celebs will score if they befriend George Stroumboulopoulos
Thought the thrill of being on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight was… being on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight? Well, when you’re an A-list celeb who’s flown north for TIFF, we guess there’s got to be more to sweeten the deal. Introducing the “Made in Canada” lounge, a post-show mini-shop (sans price tags, of course) hosting the most deliciously curated selection of made-in-Canada goodies. Everything from the custom Gregory Allen bow ties (he gets his shirts custom made!) to the Sweets from the Earth goodies (he just went vegan!) has a personal Strombo touch. The Ninutik maple sugar? It’s made next door to the host’s house! Apparently the aroma wafts through the heating vents in the winter… But lets not get carried away. (George? Me? A fur rug on the floor? Not kosher?)

SNP’s TIFF word of the day: Swag
Word: Swag
Meaning: Swag has two main contemporary definitions: 1) Valuable stuff you got for free, or stole; and 2) appearance and self-presentation, usually in a rap subculture we could call “swagster rap.”
Usage: “Flow colder than February with extraordinary swag.” ― T.I., “Swagger Like Us.”

Take a peek inside Swarovski’s TIFF fashion suite
Every year at the film festival, Swarovski hosts a gifting and lending suite where talent can come in, take a look around and borrow some ice for the red carpet. This year, the items in the lounge from the fall collection had a distinct ice queen feel to them – think Anne Hathaway as the white queen in Alice in Wonderland, or better yet, Tilda Swinton as the White Witch in The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe.

Life’s not fair: A guide to TIFF swag lounges and the celebrities who love them
What most elementary school teachers don’t teach their kids is that the word “gift” can also be a verb. To gift, or gifting is a major part of TIFF, where if you’re an A-lister (or even a B-lister) you’ll get spoiled and pampered just for being you. Brands want celebrities to be seen with their […]

TIFF gallery: Rachel Weisz, James Franco et al trade interviews for gift bags at Holts’ Variety Studio
While Holt Renfrew didn’t have their annual film festival bash this year, they did try something new with the Variety Studio. The in-store area, heavily blocked off from snooping shoppers, was a hub for talent to come in and get interviewed for Variety.com–and get a little something something to take home. The full complement of […]
