It’s hard to believe after five months the Royal Wedding is actually a wrap. As the editor-in-chief of Weddingbells Magazine, this story has been on my editorial beat since William and Catherine annouced their engagement back in November. I knew I had to be in the city for this grand spectacle, and I can tell you it’s an experience I won’t soon forget. The pomp, the pagentry, the excitement, the energy, it has been amazing. I have been to London several times, but never have I seen the city so alive, so electric and so gorgeous… London you cleaned up well for this royal occasion.

Without much cause to break out the big snow boots this winter, I’m free to explore other options, footwear wise.

Maybe it’s my rebellious spirit, or maybe it’s my inner child. Whatever you call it, it gives me the urge to jump in every puddle I see. The more mature side of me however despairs at ruining my beautiful suede boots.

When Anna Sui’s Shakoha Boot for FitFlop ($205, net-a-porter.com) first landed on my desk, I’ll admit I was skeptical. Boots that promise to tone your muscles are what every lazy Canadian is pining for in the winter, particularly office workers. While I don’t suffer from issues like plantar fascilitis, osteoarthritis and restless leg syndrome—which the FitFlop is reported to relieve–I do work in an office, so I gave them a try.
