Kate Middleton hits Wimbledon in one of our favourite recycled Alexander McQueen dresses!

Photography by Leon Neal/AFP/GettyImages View this look in our Kate Middleton slideshow! »
After a few courtside Pippa spottings, Kate and Wills finally made their appearance at Wimbledon today, and in what can’t be much of a shock, Kate’s wearing another recycled dress. The off-white navy-piped cable-knit sweater dress by Alexander McQueen is one of our favourites from her visit to Canada last year, and it looks just as apropos for today’s engagement as it did last year in quite a different one. When worn during her time in P.E.I. last year, this number felt oh so Anne of Green Gables, but doesn’t it just suit the tennis court perfectly as well? All she needs is a wooden racket and a sweatband and she’s an Ivy Leaguer.

Kate has spent more than $50,000 on clothes this year but it’s Prince Charles who pays all the bills

Photography by Danny Martindale/WireImage Kate Middleton has undergone quite the fashion transformation since marrying into the royal family. Once renowned for her High Street commoner style, the now Duchess of Cambridge has embraced designer and owns quite the impressive wardrobe to prove it. While she’s keen to recycle an Alexander McQueen jacket here and a Jenny Packham dress there, we’ve still often wondered just how much her new attire is worth—and how she goes about paying for it all, especially considering that Will is making just £44,000 flying helicopters.

Prince William turns 30 today! Here are our top picks for a birthday present from Kate

While we usually reserve all of our royal gushing for Kate Middleton, today we’re turning our attention to her husband. Happy 30th birthday, William! It’s a milestone birthday that most of us commoners can relate to—feeling like a real adult, wondering if we did enough in our twenties—but for Will, it also comes with an estimated £10 million trust, which was set up by the estate of his late mother, Princess Diana. However, before we start picturing a Scrooge-McDuck-swimming-pools-of-money-esque 30th birthday party, palace officials have said that celebrations will be “low key and private.”
(At least we can count on Prince Harry to do the exact opposite when he inherits the same amount of money on his 30th birthday. The countdown to September 30, 2014 is on!)

Kate looks ravishing in all-white at the Order of the Garter and are Camilla and Sophie playing twinsies with her?

This isn’t just a case of twinsies, it’s triplet-ies! Kate, Camilla and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, were all dressed in light (and in Kate’s case, white) shades for yesterday’s Order of the Garter ceremony. These royals really do have a thing for wearing white—but then again, you know they don’t have such pedestrian concerns as spilling coffee, sitting in something sticky or any other menial task that would ruin their pristine attire. Of course, we’ve seen this particular white item on Kate before: it’s the Alexander McQueen coat she wore to last year’s Trooping the Colour. On top, Kate had on a cream hat by Jane Corbett, who also designed the very similar pastel-blue hat she wore the day before. (At, coincidentally, this year’s Trooping the Colour.) And while we can’t see what dress Kate has on underneath her McQueen topper, all guesses point to the white Reiss Peacock dress she wore to last year’s Epsom Derby.

Kate Middleton was a silver vision in Erdem for the annual Trooping of the Colour celebration

While we expected Kate would opt for a British designer for Trooping the Colour (the annual parade that celebrates the Queen’s birthday), we were more than happily surprised to see her dressed in Canadian designer Erdem for the big day. This isn’t the first time Kate’s worn Erdem either: during the royal couple’s Canadian tour, she wore the designer twice.

Kate wears one of our dress picks (yay!) to a weekend wedding with Will and Harry

There’s no time to rest when you’re a duchess: after a week of jubilee engagements, Kate had only a few days of downtime before stepping back into the sartorial spotlight. On Saturday, the royal trio—that would be Kate, Prince William and Harry—attended the wedding of Emily McCorquodale and James Hutt. The bride, who’s the daughter of Princess Diana‘s oldest sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, spent many childhood holidays with Will and Harry, vacationing with their mums on Richard Branson‘s private island. (Pshaw, no big deal.)

All the glorious royal wardrobe details from Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee pageant!

Photography by John Stillwell/WPA Pool/Getty Images For those of you who were still in REM mode yesterday morning, you missed quite the to-do yesterday in London. Okay, maybe a “to-do” is putting it mildly, when in actuality, Queen Elizabeth‘s 1000-boat-strong Diamond Jubilee river pageant was 60 years in the making, and also hasn’t happened since Queen Victoria‘s in 1897. So lets just say it was QUITE THE TO-DO! The Queen donned an Angela Kelly–designed boucle white coat with flecked gold ribbon embroidery and Swarovski crystals (what, no diamonds?)—reportedly so that she’d be visible from afar amidst all the naval uniforms. Aboard the gilded Spirit of Chartwell and flanked by the royal family in all their uniformed glory, the Queen gave the good ol’ royal wave for a good portion of the afternoon while millions of onlookers cheered her on from the banks of the Thames.

Kate does pastel-pink and Prada while having lunch with (no big deal) two dozen international kings and queens

There was quite the royal gathering today at Windsor Castle, with over two dozen of the world’s other kings and queens (plus a sultan, grand duke and emperor!) celebrating Queen Elizabeth‘s Diamond Jubilee. While the thought of making small talk with a room of very important strangers might make most of us weak in the knees, by all accounts Kate Middleton brought her usual charms to the lunch event.

Kate keeps it casual while watching the princes play polo (and Lupo was there too!)

This weekend Kate cheered on William and Harry at a charity polo match while keeping things casual in a silk shirtdress by UK-based label Libélula. The long sleeve, knee-length look is quickly becoming her signature style, and it seems like Kate’s other must-wear item—sheer tights—are on the way out. Perhaps her choice of shoe inspired the need for bare legs? Kate wore a pair of open-toed Stuart Weitzman wedge espadrilles, which allowed her to walk across the grassy polo fields with ease—and right up to the podium where she gave both princes a kiss after their team won. (Not pictured: many other kisses from Kate and Will’s royal pup Lupo, who also adorably attended the event.)

Goodbye to sheer tights? Kate bares it all on the red carpet with a thigh-high slit

Last night, Will and Kate departed from their usual routine of charity events and public appearances to attend a meeting of the Thirty Club at Claridge’s Hotel―an exclusive group of media and advertising elites who have apparently been courting the prince for some time now. And, because there must be significance to everything the royals do, Will decided to finally be the guest of honour due to it being the year of his thirtieth birthday. However, as per usual, all eyes were on Kate, and here’s why:

A quick wardrobe change and Will and Kate are back on the scene—and Kate’s in a dress we’ve seen before

Will and Kate made their third public appearance of the week this afternoon and, as promised, we have the scoop on what the darling duchess was wearing. The couple attended a reception at the Imperial War Museum and though it was only a few hours after their morning engagement, both were in entirely new outfits—Kate even changed her hair, pulling this morning’s loose style into a half updo. (Do you think she throws on sweatpants and chills out between engagements, or are laid-back moments reserved for, say, a quite anniversary weekend with her husband?)
