Is buying a beauty brand the latest celeb trend? Katie Holmes is now a co-owner of Alterna haircare
It seems that Katie Holmes and Jennifer Aniston are following the same script.
Not long after Jennifer Aniston became a co-owner of haircare company Living Proof, Katie Holmes has just announced a co-owner partnership with Alterna Professional Haircare. Like Aniston’s role with Living Proof, Holmes is expected to star in Alterna’s upcoming advertising campaign as well as provide input and insight on products and brand initiatives. This project continues Holmes’ ventures in the beauty industry; she was also recently named the first celebrity spokesperson for Bobbi Brown cosmetics.

Jennifer Aniston is expanding her beauty empire: She’s the new face of Aveeno skincare
Jennifer Aniston has always been committed to health and advocating for eco-friendly products, so it is no surprise that the former Friends actress has signed a deal to be the new face of Aveeno skincare.
Rumours of the partnership have been swirling since last summer, but the deal was confirmed today by E! News. (An odd outlet for a beauty exclusive but we’ll take it!) Aniston’s rep said that the actress will be partnering with Aveeno specifically for skincare and indicated that we will likely be seeing the results of the collaboration later this year.

Cover Girl announces DJ duo Nervo as their newest nail art spokesmodels
Get ready to say hello to two faces that you will be seeing a lot of in the coming months. Cover Girl has announced a new addition to their ever-growing list of spokesmodels and this time it’s a two-fer: Australian DJ sister duo Nervo has just been signed to represent the global beauty brand in promotional and digital campaigns.
With this announcement, it seems that Cover Girl is making a calculated move away from adding well-known faces to their roster and instead focusing on up-and-coming talent. The Nervo girls may not have the same name recognition as the brand’s other ambassadors (which includes Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah and Sofia Vergara, to name a few) but that’s likely about to change. Aside from releasing their own music, Nervo has worked with top talent like Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue and The Pussycat Dolls and they have a DJ residency in Las Vegas. Nervo also toured with Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj on the Femme Fatale tour.

Lea Michele and Gwyneth Paltrow announce some pretty big beauty brand partnerships (L’Oreal Paris! Max Factor!) on the same day
Lea Michele has just been announced as a new brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris cosmetics. It’s certainly a boost for the Glee star’s career, putting her in the same ranks as Gwen Stefani and Beyonce, who also represent the global beauty brand. The first look at her upcoming campaign—which will run on TV and in print in early 2013—is a black and white shots of the actress with her beautiful brown wavy hair taking up most of the spotlight.

Katie Holmes to be the new face of Bobbi Brown?
Katie Holmes is undoubtedly on the path to become more than just an A-list actress. Since her high-profile-yet-swiftly-resolved divorce from Tom Cruise, she’s reentered the spotlight as a fashion force. Her Holmes & Yang collection will make its New York Fashion Week debut next week and today rumours started swirling that Katie Holmes will be the face of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.

Silver statues of David Beckham will be unveiled in conjunction with his second bodywear collection for H&M
Like Michelangelo’s David, David Beckham’s body is one of the most celebrated works of art of our time. It’s only fitting then that Beckham is also set to be immortalized in nine 10-foot statues of his hot, hot likeness. The silver statues are part of Beckham’s second bodywear collection for H&M, and they’ll be dotted about the retailer’s New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco locations from Thursday to Sunday.
Not only will locals get the chance to ogle the larger-than-life Beckhams (in underwear, no less), but those who Instagram a photo of the statue with the hashtag #HMBeckham will be in the running for a slew of prizes, including 10 mini statues of him (perfect stocking stuffers), a signed pair of undies and a $1,000 shopping spree at the Swedish retail giant. We haven’t gotten word yet as to why the Great White North is being left out of this gift from god (a.k.a. the manufacturers of the statues), but the States are just a hop and a skip away, right?

Pink is bringing her edgy aesthetic to Cover Girl as their newest spokesperson
It looks like pink hair is the new normal for drugstore beauty brands. First it was Maybelline with model Charlotte Free and now Cover Girl has named feisty, candy-floss-haired singer Pink as their newest spokesperson. The singer will certainly give the all-American brand a bit of edginess too, joining ranks with a diverse set of spokesmodels including Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore and Canadian Olympian Mary Spencer.
