Despite the physical nature of the show, there will be no audience present. In a call with press […]

Dior Collaborated with Grace Wales Bonner and a Number of African Artisans For Their Cruise 2020 Show
Earlier this month, the New York Times published an article titled “Finding the Beauty in Cultural Appropriation,” which sent a reflexive cringe shuddering through my body. Not another article excusing clueless white girls for wearing war bonnets, I thought, as my eyes rolled further back into my head than they ever had before. But after […]

Prada will Present Their Cruise 2019 Collection in New York
Amongst numerous proclamations that New York Fashion Week is “dead,” (editor’s note: I was there and it seemed pretty alive to me), WWD reports that Prada will holding their Cruise 2019 show, taking place this upcoming May, in New York City. (Prada themselves have not yet made a public announcement.) Cruise shows tend to be […]

Weezer’s Caribbean cruise sounded unreal and all, but the most recently announced concert-cruise blows Weezer’s out of the water (pun intended): Coachella organizers have just announced that they’ll be taking to international waters this December as S.S. Coachella, a 2,800-person capacity vessel packed full of indie favourites like Hot Chip, Girl Talk and Yeasayer. The ocean landscape is a far cry from the festival’s usual arid locale in Indio, California, and we have a feeling the heat exhaustion, up-to-the-knee mud splatters and disgusting port-a-potties won’t be missed too much (though they may be replaced by seasickness for some).

Fashion news: SJP is Halston’s new prez, Kate Moss probably engaged, and we want to take a nail cruise
It’s official: Sarah Jessica Parker has been named president and chief creative officer at Halston. It’s too early to judge, but Parker seems to have her head on straight with the position. She’s not interested in undermining creative director Marios Schwab, and is frank about her newbie status: “There is a huge amount I don’t know and I am very candid about that, and I am excited to learn.” [WWD]
