Jeanne Beker averages one fashion fundraiser a week (that’s a lot), and tomorrow, she will take her place as the host of Zareinu’s ninth annual fashion show for “one of the most inspiring things that I get to do every year”.

The fundraiser benefits the Zareinu Educational Centre—a treatment centre for children with disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy to down syndrome and other developmental challenges—and don’t expect a dry eye to be in the room. According to Canadian fashion icon, Jeanne Beker, “When you see the kids from the school walk out on that runway—I can’t tell you what it does to you. Your heart swells with so much joy and inspiration and these kids are real fighters.”

This year’s event features the resort collection from international luxury brand, Escada. It’s the first time the collection will be shown in Canada, and alongside the high fashion designs will as many as 30 children from the Zareinu Educational Centre walking the runway in Gap Kids with therapists and teachers from the centre.

It should come as no surprise that Hedi Slimane’s much talked about collections for Saint Laurent Paris (his revamped moniker for the legendary Yves Saint Laurent) are being kept well under wraps as he prepares for their debut this fall. Call it the Chanel invasion of St. Tropez. Hundreds of models, fashion editors and Chanel groupies have descended on this chic port town for the unveiling of the Chanel Cruise collection.

Last night guests battled it out in a petanque tournament [Ed: basically lawn bowling played on gravel] in the main square, Place des Lice, that followed a screening of a short film by Karl Lagerfeld.

Accidentally try to climb into the car with actress Diane Kruger (wearing a satin navy mini-dress with a jaunty straw hat and open-toed booties), that’s how. "Oh non, non. The town is crawling with everything and everyone Chanel as they get ready for Chanel’s resort presentation tonight around the pool at The Raleigh hotel (I was a bit blue to hear it was going to be a pool, I was hoping for a show on boats in shark infested waters. And Don Johnson!). Every elevator is full of impossibly chic Paris girls in oversized Chanel watches and "I don’t care if my hair is messy you’ll never be as beautiful and slim as me" airs (insert smoky French laugh here.)
