Fashion’s Night Out Street Style: 55 shots of Toronto’s most stylish parties and partygoers
After years of anticipation, Fashion’s Night Out, the Vogue-backed citywide street party that began and expanded worldwide to include stops in London, Paris and even Sydney finally made its way to Canada’s fashion capitals, hitting Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal last night. As our editors attended events around Toronto, photographer Farzin Ghayour hit the pavement to shoot the street styles.
Beginning with Holt Renfrew’s 175th anniversary street party, Ghayour captured some of the most adorable and magenta-filled moments including limited edition sweatshirts being sold direct from the brand’s roadtripping truck, custom-designed magenta Diet Cokes being handed out, the crowd (including president Mark Derbyshire) watching a specially filmed tribute video featuring guest spots from Victoria Beckham, Donna Karan, Michael Kors and others.

Rac Boutique presents The Bazaar: a one-stop-pop-up-shop that opens in Toronto next week!
In what’s sure to be one of the biggest shopping events of the season, Rac Boutique is curating a one-stop pop-up shop (say that 10 times fast), The Bazaar at 580 King St. W. The four-day shopping collaboration will feature men’s and women’s items—everything from vintage to designer consignment to sample sales—from some of our favourite Toronto retailers including Dalston Grey, Robber, Jacflash and Rita Liefhebber. It all kicks off with a (totally free) launch party on April 5. With DJ Brendan Canning (of Broken Social Scene fame) and enough cocktails to keep Carrie Bradshaw happy, we’re definitely marking this one on our calendar.

Inside Friday’s Operanation ball: Toronto’s glitterati, Arthur Mendonça, Ashley Rowe, Greta Constantine, Rufus Wainwright, and Austra
It’s not very often that an evening can be described as unforgettable, but Operanation 8: A Muse Ball was exactly that. Last Friday, the Canadian Opera Company’s annual gala took over the three-storied lobby of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, a glittering venue that had passersby on University Avenue gawking through the windows, and with good reason.
Yorkville’s Rac Boutique put together a fashion installation of custom-made designs by Canadian labels like Calla, Joeffer Caoc, Ashley Rowe, and Greta Constantine. Since the wares were showcased by models more mannequin than mortal, more than one of the 1,100 guests was excused for mistakenly fondling the ladies’ outfits. But really, who could resist copping a feel of that floor-length, electric-purple Arthur Mendonça number?
