We’re Obsessed With These Rose Gold Reeboks (And You Will Be Too)
When I got married I wore a champagne-coloured silk peau de soie gown that in certain light seemed a pale, pale pink. As the evening progressed, I traded in my heels for a pair of purple Old Navy flip flops. But if these rose gold Reeboks were available my late-evening party snaps would be much […]

Alicia Keys on fitness, fashion and her new sneaker collaboration with Reebok
Preview the Reebok Classic x Alicia Keys Summer 2013 collection »
In the midst of her Girl on Fire world tour, we sat down with Alicia Keys in New York (looking very uptown-downtown in a printed Givenchy shirt and sneakers—the new A.Keys wedge from her fall Reebok collection) to talk Crossfit, vitamins and being a slave to fashion.
She was ahead of the curve on the sneaker resurgence:
“When I was a kid, I’d get the Reebok Freestyle sneakers because they were a good price range, multiple colours and I could match them with my jacket and shirt. In 2002 or 2003, I did a song called ‘If I Ain’t Got You.’ For the video, we were in Harlem and I brought the Freestyle and I painted it purple. I thought, ‘Man, it’d be cool to bring the sneaker back.’” -
Ever made your own running shoes? Reebok’s making it happen
One does not need to qualify themselves as a “sportster” or “gym rat” to appreciate a pair of customized running shoes. Need further proof? Exhibit A: the rise to fame of the Isabel Marant sneaker wedge and exhibit B: Kristen Stewart’s dedication to wearing high tops to red carpet events. And for those who love going to the gym (hats off to you), shopping for new gear is always a highlight. Who doesn’t want to look stylish even if they’re only headed to the gym?
This is where Reebok’s newest platform, YourReebok, comes into play. The premise is simple: select a shoe that works for your work out preferences—whether it’s cross fit or jogging or walking—start with an all white shoe and design from there. Each Reebok shoe has different ways to customize them. There are 19 colours, 23 different areas of the shoes waiting to be changed and four different materials that can be used. You can even add words into the mix; go for your name or WHTVR (no seriously, we put WHTVR on our shoes). It’s safe to say no two shoes will ever be the same.

Fashion news: Marc Jacobs makes the Time 100, Armani pairs up with Reebok and the Prada alphabet
Marc Jacobs and Liya Kebede made the Time 100 list, which comes out on newsstands Thursday. Victoria Beckham interviews Jacobs for the issue and Tom Ford talks to Kebede. [WWD]
Models are appearing in more ads than celebrities, suggesting a turn of the tide in celebrity-heavy spots. Karl Lagerfeld cites celeb overexposure, while the Marilyn Agency’s Robert Ferrell suggests the economic crisis might have something to do it–having a celebrity can “double or triple” the budget. YSL designer Stefano Pilati just plain likes to work with models: “[Actresses] have an attitude, but will never be the fashion attitude. To me, fashion photography is with a model; otherwise, it’s a portrait.” [WWD]
