See the Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 Ad Campaign images »
Where Nicolas Ghesquiére goes, the rest follow. In the first campaign since assuming the role of creative director at Louis Vuitton, the designer has brought a group of fashion heavyweights to the label’s Fall 2014 advertising images, including Annie Leibowitz, Bruce Weber and Juergen Teller, to help him mold the label in his effortlessly French image. The photos, entitled “Series 1,” are the result of each photographer’s concept, showcasing Vuitton’s all new cool girl wares on the likes of Freja Beha Erichsen, Liya Kebede and Jean Campbell. At the centre of it all is Ghesquiére’s duo of influencers: Charlotte Gainsbourg and stylist Marie-Amelie Sauve, who previously helped him shape so much of Balenciaga’s aesthetic.

A Dozen Girls: Juergen Teller shoots Nicolas Ghesquière’s first collection for Louis Vuitton
See the “A Dozen Girls” photos here »
A new era dawned on the final day of Paris Fashion Week, with Nicolas Ghesquière’s first collection for Louis Vuitton rebalancing the high-design equilibrium offset when he ditched Balenciaga back in November 2012. For Ghesquière devouts, the 48-look collection of pared-back cool girl clothes was like lifeblood. For him, I imagine it was the sartorial echo of Kelis’s sarcasm-filled anthem “Copy Cat” (“Oh come here, copycat! You’re my puppet, you know I love it! You could do it, I did it already”). You know, the Parisian way of saying “Step off, b*tch.”
There’s no comparing yesterday’s show with Marc Jacobs’ glittering spring ode to showgirls, and while choosing between the two would be fashion’s Sophie’s Choice, it looks like someone did: Jeurgen Teller. The German photographer long associated with Marc Jacobs ads turned down the Spring 2014 campaign starring Miley Cyrus, and instead shot an off the cuff lookbook for Ghesquière’s Vuitton collection entitled “A Dozen Girls.” The photographs feature a sampling of the collection on models including longstanding Ghesquière favourite Liya Kebede. Like the show, the photographs are, in a word, flawless.

Inside the Anna Dello Russo for H&M party in Paris: 26 photos of the international fashion crowd celebrating zany accessories with champagne, lollipops and Azealia Banks

Most 51-year-olds would not attempt a minidress with side cut-outs, or at least they shouldn’t. But then most 51-year-olds are not Anna Dello Russo, fashion director at large for Vogue Nippon come street style megastar.
Fashion’s best-known dress-up enthusiast arrived at the Paradis Latin nightclub for the party celebrating her upcoming collaborative accessory collection with H&M, which launches on October 4, in fitting style: descending from the ceiling on a throne of giant fake pink roses, Marilyn Monroe style. Her aqua minidress radiated crystal and gold sunbursts, while golden alligators, which were affixed to her ADR for H&M sunglasses, spanned her brows. One of the best performers in the biz, Anna Dello Russo treated the crowd to a performance alongside fellow European editor and style star Giovanna Battaglia, who had accessorized to the nines in Anna Dello Russo’s H&M collection and even a butterfly-adorned golden headpiece.

Get the look: 10 tropical-printed picks inspired by Proenza, Stella and Altuzarra all under $100
Gone are the days when Hawaiian prints were only worn by middle-aged men touring through Oahu. From Altuzarra to Alexander Wang, tropical patterns have taken on a new, infinitely more chic form this spring. Jaime King kept her saturated flora and fauna skirt by Proenza Schouler from looking kitschy by opting for sleek black, while Liya Kebede took a pared-down approach to the trend with a nude Proenza Schouler dress flanked by tropical birds from the duo’s fall collection. Yasmin Sewell, on the other hand, opted for an eclectic spin on the trend by pairing her tropical Stella McCartney top with a black-and-white patterned skirt.

Altuzarra, known for his complex seaming and fitted pants, won a $300,000 cash prize and a mentorship program from the CFDA’s Business Advisory Committee including Anna Wintour and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg. Macabre jeweler Pamela Love and newcomers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Creatures of the Wind both won runner up prizes of $100,000 each.
Meanwhile, on the red carpet, the bright young things were out in full American-made force, decked out in everything from fellow nominees Cushnie et Ochs and Suno to the event’s title speaker Calvin Klein. Oh, and Jenna Lyons was there too. (“Nothing to see here, folks!”)
