Charting All Of Shailene Woodley’s Best Style Moments
Over the past five years, we’ve witnessed Shailene Woodley seamlessly transition from a teen drama actress into a full-fledged A-lister. The 25-year-old Divergent actress is known for her laid-back vibe (re: that Isabel Marant get-up at Comic-Con), however, as of late she’s been racking up incredible red carpet marks in looks by Elie Saab, Fendi, and Alexander […]

All about the powers of mystical jewellery, the latest New Age trend we’re trying
The notion that gemstones can embody mystical powers isn’t exactly new. In fact, it’s about as ancient as it gets in the world of accessories. Similar to healing crystals, gems with spiritual qualities have been worked into jewellery settings throughout history so that the wearer is able to absorb their powers. In early societies, people wore […]

Introducing Kenzodiac: Fashion’s latest reason to be obsessed with astrology
In case you haven’t noticed, astrology has become a major thing within the fashion crowd over the past couple of years. While it was once considered silly to consult the stars (or rather, to consult astrologers who understand the stars) before making big changes in relationships, career and living situations, it’s now completely acceptable—and obviously chic—to do so.
Taking that one step further is Parisian It brand Kenzo, who recently launched Kenzodiac, an astrological site that fuses the stars with fashion (a deliciously intriguing sentence if I’ve ever written one). It features sketches by artist Julien Ceccaldi and offers monthly horoscope readings for each sign about the usual mysteries of life, love, money, career, as well as, duh, fashion.

Afternoon Delight: These earrings might just keep you protected during tonight’s eclipse!
According to mega-astrologist Susan Miller, there is a crazy strong eclipse coming tonight that will trigger major changes for many in the zodiac. Especially those born today, which luckily or unluckily includes me. It’s certainly got me spooked, and warding off any bad sides of the eclipse is especially on my mind right now. I […]

Sign Language: From Mercury retrograde to cosmic charts, we uncover fashion’s strong connection with the zodiac
Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, born on Aug. 19, 1883, was a true Leo. Bronze and marble lions litter the interior of 31 Rue Cambon, where she spent her life; in Lausanne, where she now lies, five lions sit etched on her tombstone. Beginning in the 1920s, the buttons of her soft tweed suits often bore symbols, including lion’s heads, and, as befits her leonine birthright, those suits won her king-sized fame. And yet, in the ’30s, Chanel found herself eclipsed by a Virgo.
Elsa Schiaparelli, born on Sept. 10, 1890, spent her childhood surveying the heavens. Her uncle, Giovanni, was a well-known astronomer, and it was he who pointed out that the moles on her face formed the constellation Ursa Major. In Schiaparelli’s 1938 Zodiac collection, the constellation glitters over the left shoulder of a blue velvet jacket that’s as lushly bizarre as Chanel tweeds are classic. Together, she and Chanel set up fashion’s organizing dichotomy—high art or expensive habit?—and they remain the century’s most important couturiers.
They loathed each other. Schiaparelli referred to commercial, streetwise Chanel as “that milliner,” while Chanel called the surreally cool Schiap “that Italian artist who makes clothes.” In fact, besides talent and mutual disdain, the only thing these two had in common was a belief in the very system that best explains their differences.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013: Dispatches and celeb sightings from a fashion week newbie
Things I learned today at my first day at the shows: Saturday mornings get off to a slow start. That doesn’t mean that the front row isn’t glossy-haired and well-heeled, but it’s certainly a smaller, sleepier crowd at the tents for 9am.
Weather is a major player. Alternating between scorching, humid sun and torrential downpours, unpredictable September weather wreaked havoc on show schedules with delays holding up start times across the city.
It’s fun to ogle Hollywood celebrities in the front row (Kate Bosworth, Mamie Gummer, Jessica Chastain and Kris Humphries—does he count?—were all spotted in FROW today), but the really exciting people watching comes courtesy of the fashion editors, buyers, bloggers and photographers who are dressed to impress. The Prabal Gurung show only started once Bill Cunningham found his seat.

Designer clothes at discount prices: We explore the new wave of online retail with a tour of The Outnet headquarters in London
Online-shopping veteran Rebecca Tay explores the digital world of discount ready-to-wear while taking an exclusive tour of The Outnet’s HQ in London.
See the global top sellers | See the Canadian top sellers
Online-shopping virgins are rare these days. Any girl worth her weight in Wang (whether it’s Alexander or Vera) has not only done the deed but also experimented with the latest spine-tingling activity: trolling the web for designer discounts. Who hasn’t hit the sheets with their laptop primed for a little ready-to-wear rollback action? Half-price Lanvin ballet flats? Yes, please! Erdem floral dresses for a fraction of their original price? Click: “buy!” E-boutiques like Shopbop, Asos and Net-A-Porter have huge followings, but the new stars of the online retail world are the luxury-good bargain hunters. When it comes to these price-choppy waters, The Outnet is the mother ship, drawing more than one million unique visitors every month. It was launched in 2009 as an offshoot of Net-A-Porter, which was one of the first companies to offer designer brands online. With more than 200 high-end labels to browse, including Stella McCartney, Marni, Balmain and Marc Jacobs, this site is a destination for marked-down must-haves. Boots that once cost a month’s rent are now $200; almost everything, from Alexander McQueen to Zac Posen, is 50 to 70 per cent off. It’s a virtual dream, but I get the chance to see if this fairy-tale land of luxe-for-less really exists beyond the screen when I receive an exclusive invitation to spend a day at The Outnet.

NYFW: 7 of the best manicures and nail art designs from the Fall 2012 runways!
It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of inventive manicures (check out our DIY Nails video series and Nail Corner column for further proof) and without a doubt the best inspiration comes from the runways. It’s worth pointing out that nude nails—that is, sheer taupe shades in barely-there colours—continued to dominate in New York. However, despite the abundance of one-colour manicures, CND, M.A.C, and Essie produced some very exciting nail-art designs for Fall 2012.
