Toronto’s Candice & Alison celebrate five years with a rooftop party full of the city’s stylemakers
Check out all of the Candice & Alison party pics »
Last night, Candice Chan and Alison Slight celebrated the five year anniversary of their powerhouse company, Candice & Alison Events Group. The event planning duo are known for their innovative and memorable parties, sharp attention to every little detail, and taste for luxury. Candice and Alison have worked with brands like BMW, Chanel, Christian Dior and Cadillac, and with celebrities such as Oprah, Elton John and Kanye West.
When you receive a Candice & Alison invitation, you clear your calendar, and that’s just what we did. The gorgeous five year anniversary celebration was held at Malaparte at the TIFF Bell Lightbox and was split into two different spaces. The first portion of the evening was Slight’s environment: elegant, light and all-white. The second portion was Chan’s all-black and explored the rich darkness that contrasted the first half. Guests were dressed to match the decor, and the results were, as you can see, visually stunning.

Allison Williams vs. Scarlett Johansson: Who wore black and white best?
See the black and white looks up close »
Simple and demure was the name of the game for two of Hollywood’s style mavens. This past week, Allison Williams and Scarlett Johansson ditched the glitz and opted for a softer approach to dressing, sporting similarly casual black and white looks.
At the opening party for Diane Von Furstenberg’s “Journey of a Dress” retrospective exhibition at the Wilshire May Building in Los Angeles (on through April 1, 2014), Williams went apropos in a signature DVF wrap. The dress featured a simple black top and contrasting flared black and white polka dot skirt, which she paired with white Jimmy Choo ankle-strap heels and ‘40s glamour girl curls.

Taylor Swift vs. Michelle Dockery: Who was best dressed at the Winter Whites gala at Kensington Palace?
Last night, Prince William played the role of host to guests attending the Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace (aka his home!) in London. The event was in support of Centrepoint, a charity that gives homeless young people shelter, to which the future monarch has been a devoted patron. Among the VIP guests in attendance were Taylor Swift and Michelle Dockery whose head-turning style choices stood out in the crowd of do-gooders.
If you’ve ever wondered what one wears when they are meeting royalty, look to Taylor Swift who impressed in a dreamy floor-grazing white Reem Acra gown from the designer’s Spring 2014 Collection. She let the silver embellished bodice do all the shining by keeping her accessories modest. A classic retro curled updo and a signature red pout made up her beauty look for the night.

Street Style, Paris: Ciara, Man Repeller and Miroslava Duma rock monochromatic goodies outside fashion week
See the street style looks from Paris »
As Paris Fashion Week comes inches towards a close for Spring 2014, Mother Nature has provided us with cloudy grey skies. The silver lining, however, is that that ominous shade serves as the perfect backdrop for trendsetters to flaunt their outfits du jour.
Yesterday, fashion week’s street style stars embraced two divergent colour palettes. Half of them have a penchant all things monochrome, interweaving delicate fabrics with bold, edgy prints and textures. Elena Perminova had legs for miles in a black Chanel bell dress that looked like a starry night sky in reverse. Hip hop star Ciara channeled the black and white look as well in a pretty lace get-up outside Valentino.

Street Style, New York: 51 star-studded photos of Nicki Minaj, Julianne Moore and more outside Spring 2014 fashion week
It’s day seven of New York Fashion Week which means NYFW is officially wrapping up. With the scorching weather, everybody was happy to peel off layers and embrace the heat with summer dresses. While Miroslava Duma and Olivia Palermo showed off their toned legs in printed ensembles, a few fashion show regulars took cues from the Spring 2014 runway by pulling out pleated skirts and sheer fabrics.

Street Style, New York: 53 photos of style stars (and Barbara Walters!) braving the heat outside Spring 2014 fashion week
Despite the scorching heat wave, street style regulars were definitely into leather on day six of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014.
Many fashion enthusiasts layered classic leather jackets or vests over their summery outfits, but Miroslava Duma and blogger Chiara Ferragni rocked the leather trend by pulling out maxi and studded mini respectively.
The Beckerman sisters joined in on the leather-clad fun. While Samantha Beckerman opted for a pleated black skirt and a Marc Jacobs Mickey Mouse sweater, Cailliane went rocker chic in a Rodarte black and red-fringed leather vest and Mickey printed leggings. Style to spare in duplicates, those girls.
Accessories were definitely making a statement on the streets. From Leandra Medine’s colourful arm candy to a furry black and blue clutch adding texture to a head to toe black ensemble, accessories were stealing the spotlight. Even the much-coveted mini Chanel hula-hoop purse made an appearance.
While the vast majority strutted the streets outside New York Fashion Week in killer heels, flats, sneakers and furry Céline sandals were the popular and definitely more comfortable choice. Even Anna Dello Russo, the queen of statement stilettos, wore leather boots, albeit bejewelled and bedazzled.

Street Style, New York: 56 photos of Eva Chen, Susie Bubble, BryanBoy and Rumi Neely outside Spring 2014 fashion week
We’re already more than halfway through New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 (day five to be exact) and the street style stars just keep knocking it out of the park, layer by layer.
While the crop top is certainly a mainstay, our cross border friends proclaimed their love for the Canadian tuxedo. Case in point: this fashion enthusiast who strutted the streets in a full on onesie carrying not one but four 3.1 Phillip Lim shopping bags (We’d love to be her friend).
While fashion show regulars like Caroline Issa and Miroslava Duma flirted with the black and white trend, Man Repeller aka Leandra Medine played with a softer side with a pastel pink oversized blazer.
