Netflix Gifts Us With a New Chanel Documentary Right Before the Holidays
As a lover of both fashion and documentaries, films that combine both are some of my favourites. After all, what’s better than watching Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington butt heads in “The September Issue” or getting a behind-the-scenes look at The Met Gala in “First Monday in May”? Now, just in time for the holidays, […]

20 Fashionable Coffee Table Books to Gift This Holiday Season
Shopping for a fashion-lover can be a little nerve-wracking. Will the sweater you’ve selected go with their carefully curated closet? Do they like scarves? How about bold patterns? Style can be such a personal thing and–even if it is the thought that counts–it can be overwhelming to try and get it right. We suggest you ditch […]

The Louis Vuitton Cruise Was a Celebration of Eccentric Personal Style
Sometimes my job feels rather surreal. Last night at the Louis Vuitton Cruise show it literally was. As I walked through the gates to the Fondation Maeght—a private art foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence that houses works from Marc Chagall, Miró and Alexander Calder—it was a fantastical scene. Even the music—a live performance from WOODKID—was dreamy. (The […]

I Am an Immigrant: Powerful Video Unites Fashion’s Most Recognizable Faces
NYFW proved that fashion isn’t shying away from politics. But the most political statement of all has perhaps happened off the runway. 81 of the biggest names in fashion—including Belgian-American designer Diane Von Furstenberg, Welsh-American creative director (and long time Vogue staffer) Grace Coddington and British-American model Jourdan Dunn (who happens to be FASHION’s next cover star)—came […]

An Interview With Grace Coddington That Makes Us Love Her Even More
I once took a cramped elevator ride with Grace Coddington while in Paris for fashion week and never forgot it. In a small space with stern-looking editors, I could practically feel her kind energy cutting through the crowd. Being that close to someone I consider a living legend was an unforgettable experience, which is why […]

Street Style, Paris: 20 fashion week shots of Kanye, Gisele and more from outside the Fall 2014 shows
See the latest street style looks from Paris Fashion Week »
Yesterday’s Paris Fashion Week street style round up of subdued glamour was seemingly just a warm up to today’s batch of pics filled with quirky outfits and dramatic outfits featuring lots and lots of black. Black after all is fashion’s favourite colour.
Probably the standout look of the bunch is the fantastically trippy harlequin inspired red and black diamond coat and dress. Paired with a façade top hat, the back cut out allowing for an epically long ponytail, and structural cut-out shoes seemingly defying all logic and gravity. Anna Dello Russo, in typical fashion, also opted for unusual headgear, going for a felt riding cap paired with a black sleeveless shift and sheer pullover underneath. And of course, it wouldn’t be Anna without a little inflection of Asian pop art, with her gummy bear clutch adding a big of colour to the monochromatic look. Black moto jackets were all the rage and spotted on plenty of of-duty models and fashion style stars alike, with Giovanna Battaglia choosing to soften her shearling version with a ruffled gingham ensemble and bright pink fedora.

Street Style, New York: We spot Jenna Lyons, Miroslava Duma, Olivia Palermo and more outside the Fall 2014 shows
While many of us spent the weekend huddled inside watching the Sochi action, New York Fashion Week kept editors, bloggers and fashion lovers out and about in the cold for the Fall 2014 shows. With all the commuting between venues—from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back again—cozy outerwear and slush-proof footwear was essential.
Fur continues to be a huge trend outside the tents, with everything from bright-blue faux to ’70s shearling to a mod Isabel Marant racoon coat being snapped by our street style photographer, Stefania Yarhi. Eva Chen kept things light and youthful in a super fluffy snowman-esque coat and rainbow-metallic kicks, while Jenna Lyons effortlessly worked the quirky mismatched-yet-tailored style she pioneered.

Street Style, Paris: 17 beautiful shots from outside Couture Fashion Week Spring 2014
See the Street Style from Paris Couture Fashion Week »
With no help from this winter’s especially frigid temps, things are officially heating up for 2014’s first dose of fashion month with much of the international style set in Paris for Spring 2014 Couture Week. Unsurprisingly, much of what we’re seeing on the street outside the shows has to do with protection, as strong and playful outwear serves as a colourful shield against arctic air.
Already fully outfitted in Spring 2014 ready-to-wear, quirky style maven Anna Dello Russo topped her embellished Prada jacket with a matching sugary pink fur Chanel trapper hat and over-the-knee flat white leather boots, an unusual choice for the matriarch of towering heels. Ultra-stylish rapper A$AP Rocky continued his serious fan-boy affection for Raf Simons at the Christian Dior Couture show in a mod button down, leather moto jacket and his signature braids. Talented and fashion-savvy? Our hearts are aflutter.
The Russians were out in droves with Elena Perminova, Miroslava Duma and Anya Ziourova all donning bold coats with matching mock scarf collars. We smell a new trend: Susie Bubble sported a Céline-inspired laundry bag check jacket in soft pastels, matched with an envy-inducing and mesmerizing wavy clutch. Caroline Issa was similarly on point in pastels, effortlessly mixing a button down, jacket and striped pumps, all in varying whimsical shades. Everyone’s favourite kooky Aunt, Grace Coddington, proved that sometimes less is more, choosing only to accessorize her oversized leather coat with her signature hair. If only we could pull off such a look.
