Tom Ford Really Knows How to Do a Front Row
New York Fashion Week swung into full and fantastic gear with the arrival of a starry and decadent Tom Ford runway show at New York’s Park Avenue Armory. Ford is a master image maker, who has moved (with apparent ease…) between fashion, film, beauty and back again. And despite the black suit, dark sunglasses and […]

Street Style, Miami: 48 shots of stylish folks spotted around Art Basel 2013
See the street style from Miami Art Basel »
Sun, sand and endless art newness. What could be more genius than Miami Art Basel? We hit the 12th annual art fair this past weekend in the sunshine state and found so much visual inspiration, it’s still possible to size it all up.
On the street, the style was Miami 2.0 with a healthy dose of gallery girl chic. Popping metallics were everywhere, from on reflective aviators to party dresses. So was pattern play, which included unique blends of stripes, florals and fruit prints.
Amidst the A-list parties and artist debuts, several of fashion’s favourite It girls including Leigh Lezark, Stephanie LaCava and Hannah Bronfman made appearances, making for some much-needed flavour bursts during a currently bundled-up season back home.

Lipstick Diaries: 6 trendsetters known for wearing a statement lip share their favourite shades
If the recent runways are any indication, the fixation with rich, outré lip colours isn’t fading anytime soon. From metallic purple (Fendi) to fluoro-pink (Christian Dior) to burning red (Marni), makeup artists have ignited a newfound appreciation for highly individualized hues. Yet for certain style and beauty influencers, a bold swipe of colour across the lips is a defining feature that separates them from the pack. More than a spritz of perfume or a faithful handbag, lipstick conveys the nuances of their personality, making them instantly recognizable. Here, we asked our favourite lipstick devotees to bare all when it comes to their shades and brands of choice, how they discovered their prized hues and their expert application tricks.

Christian Louboutin’s Design Exchange exhibit opening: 23 photos of VIPs, iconic shoes and a Dita Von Teese hologram
See Christian Louboutin Design Exchange opening party photos »
Last night, lovers of the greatest name in footwear came to meet the man himself at the opening of Christian Louboutin’s retrospective exhibit at Toronto’s Design Exchange. The designer, who graced the crowd for a moment in the VIP room on the third floor said but a few words, the most important ones being “French and Canadians, we get along ok.” We’ll take it! With that ceremonious kick-off, the party, which had been on for an hour at that point, really revved up. Amidst three floors of Louboutin goodness, the crowd, which included actress Sarah Gadon, Jeanne Beker, socialite Krystal Koo, and Design Exchange president Shauna Levy, got down to the hip hop stylings of New York-based It girl/DJ Hannah Bronfman.
The exhibit itself is a fantastical treat for anyone who not only loves shoes but the naughty likes of Dita Von Teese as well. Brought to town by the London’s Design Museum curator Donna Loveday, the exhibit is comprised of a mini carousel, a garden and a hologram of Von Teese which set the quirky stage for 250 pairs of Louboutin’s most iconic and outlandish shoes since he opened his first boutique in 1991.
